Did You Know the best Way to Open a Caulking Tube
In this video I show how I like to cut caulking tubes. This method is very helpful for controlling the amount of sealant that is applied. The angle cut makes the sealant form a uniform bead along almost any edge.
I also cover the benefits of dripless caulking guns. Link below.
This is #2 in my new series called "Did You Know?"

The membrane in the tube is always a pain in the ass to deal with. Fortunately, we don't have any in Europe, no matter what type of caulk/glue we use, which makes our lives a little bit easier... Good tip, although if you need a very small amount of caulk along an edge, two coats of any decent acrylic paint will do the job with no caulk at all.
@Makebuildmodify
@Makebuildmodify 6 лет назад

@Makebuildmodify

The tube probably has a membrane located down inside the tip. It's usually near the body of the tube. You can use a long thin piece of metal to puncture it. Some caulking guns have a fold out needle for just this application.
