Holy shit dude what an amazing, thorough, well explained video. I know how to read them but I’m always slow and usually have to sit there and think about it for a bit, this cleared up a ton for me. Props to you man, great video!!!
I didn’t read the title well and thought it said how to make it work, and then realized it says “with adapter” but I still think it’s kinda redundant and dumb to offer a hack that isn’t a hack, it’s just a purchase of another tool. I thought diy was not purchasing more stuff
It can be done with the lower part of a flashlight that receives the new batteries. If you look near the beginning of the video, you can see that I cut off the lower part of the flashlight. You can also see in the same shot that I use this part on one of the adapters. So, it can be done without a purchase of another tool if you already have the newer flashlight. But, it's been a while since I made this video, and now there are aftermarket adapters and 3D printed versions.
I know this sounds crazy, but as a 25 year old cosplayer, I'd never thought I'd need this tutorial, but I did. You explained and showed everything so clearly, including how to run it. Thank you so much for showing others how to do this. ❤
Man I'm trying to get a job and got turned away because I failed the tape measure test, I was so embarrassed. I got invited back and with the help of this video I'm about to ace this! Thank you
Imperial has to be the stupidest and most hard way to get a precise measurement like bruh, cant we void 1/2's and 1/4's and so on and just replace with 16ths. None of this needless conversion and extra time wasted messing up measurements and dividing. Better yet lets change to a system that is divisable by 10s.
Excellent all around - have been making some of your projects without a table saw - just using a hand-held circular saw. Not as fancy - but gets the job done. How come you stopped making videos? Or do you have another channel anywhere? Either way - thank you!
It's great to hear that somebody is making my project! I'm considering starting back up again. I had to go back to my day job. I'll probably have to take sponsors to continue though.
@@Makebuildmodify Do you get decent monetization with YT? Either way - I think your presentation style is perfect. Way above most others. No hand-holding. Too many other channels are over-explainers, etc. Don't you think that if you pick up again - your subscriber base will grow rapidly? I think others are also yearning for more straightforward makers like you. You might be surprised?
@@NJroute22 Thank you for the encouragement, I really appreciate it. The YT monetization typically does not cover the production costs of a video. Over time, some videos will pay well enough to limp the channel along, but if I want to do it full time (my dream), I'd have to take on sponsors. It used to be more commonly viewed as a taboo (sellout) type of thing. Times have changed, and I'm reconsidering my position on in-video adverts.
@@Makebuildmodify Very interesting. Do you pay someone to make your videos? I have a channel (not monetized) - and my production costs are zero (other than the few hours it takes to make). Are you basing your costs on time/value? In other words - you make more working a "in real life" job over doing virtual things? I do have to say one more thing though - when I am building things at home - it kind of sucks to "do it for the camera" rather than just building it for myself. It'd be nice to have a film crew film for me while I concentrated on my project.
@@NJroute22I do it all myself. My bigger projects can consume 40-60 hours plus the cost of materials. I lose a week or more of income from my day job. So, the real lifestyle cost is pretty substantial considering that I was trying to produce one project video per week. Moving forward, I'll have to do maybe one project per month and more talking head videos to fill in the month-reviews, tips and tricks, and things like that. Maybe even a "Maker Week in Review" where I cover other makers' projects.
Thanks! Instead of just getting mad and yelling things at me like my dad, you actually taught me how to properly read a tape measure/ruler. Thank you for this.
I use both. There are a lot (most) of structures in the US that are built with Imperial system materials. There would be no advantage to using the metric system only to convert back to imperial every time you had to buy materials.
Felicidades gran trabajo. Me ppngo manos a la obra. Por fabor la plantilla para las medidas. Del centro de gravedad depende el buen acierto en la diana👍👏👏👏
Finally! someone who is not a quack! I appreciate you beyond words. most people who like this stuff would not be able to even tell you what a hypotenuse is, let alone be smart enough to try to make complex 2-3D shapes. I am grateful that there are silly smart people like you ♡
How are you locking the old top plate into the nicad tool, now that the locking mechanism is removed. I have everything done, using a Dewalt adapter, and haven't figured out a way to lock the new combination battery pack into the old tool.
I didn't. most of mine are so old that they would stay on their own. Now that I think about it, I use a large rubber band to hold the battery to my sawzall
@@Makebuildmodify Thanks for getting back to me. The only way I could see of keeping the locks, would have been to put the new batteries in the old case, which is not what I wanted. I will go ahead without the locks, knowing that I will probably have to use a Rube Goldberg solution to secure the adapter. The only two older Milwaukee tools I am wanting to use, is the hammer drill and the sawzall, so I will have to do something.
You are totaly wrong man the way you hold the gun to the way you cut the tips alway 90 with the run and 45 with the gap you fil ... tip should be cut at 85 degrees
being really really really bad at mathematics it took me years to be able to glance at my tape measure and know what to do without thinking Then i move to Germany and built a house . it took all of ten minutes to figure out the metric system .
About 5 years ago I stumbled upon this video, his explanations were so intriguing and understandable that I went straight to Amazon and bought me a Swanson speed square, thing is I'm not a Builder Carpenter or Joiner, I still got the square brand new sealed in it's package, it just seemed like something I should own, Lol
thank you so much i was trying to make a speaker with a Passive radiator and Put the voice coil From a speaker and it was a pain to Get the magnet off until i found this video!
Amazing work!! I think if you used ESP32 and LED strips you could make the light portion better. More diffused for a solid light with no hotspots. The 'hard part' was done perfectly though!! Subbed <3
