@G W tbh they did not insult/mock any culture, and might just have gotten some pple interested in the origins of didgeridoo... time to stop this cultural appropriation nonsense
I thought didgeridoo music was alien sounding enough already, but then add shirtless French dudes exchanging spit and beatboxing and I’m as close as high as a sober boi can get.
Damn as an Australian and I have grown up playing and listening to some great Didge player. These two Frenchies are of the best I have ever heard for sure!
Imagine what this must have been like 4000 years ago, under the stars on some sort of mushroom, without the 'modern dubstep/electronica' influence. earthly psytrance
there is nothing new under the sun. i guarantee that in the last 50,000 years some black fellas already lay down these rhythms, and it would have been totally awesome lol. but, this is an experience you can still have. buy a yidaki and go camping.
@@ThePoohat yeah, no doubts. Digeridoo is uniquely Australian native - in Africa we have more drums and singing whilst here they incorportate kookaburra's and other animal sounds into their blown.
brother i am Australian and if i can play both didgeridoo and djembe you can too ;). a functional didg can be made out of a few lengths of pipe and some wax. it might not sound like those in this video but it will get you close.
@@gerardjansens1748 well the whole point off a didge is to play low long vibrations with circular breathing . Beat boxing in a didge does not hit those long notes. White man is not allowed to play didge anyways
@@potentpudz9311 I agree with everything except the white man part unless your name is Rolf, the first chap started of pretty good as the sounds rolled nicely but you're right beat boxing it just doesn't mix as they're on different plains.
One of the best battles learning so much from you guys! Thank you for your practice, someone sitting somewhere really appreciates you guys and wishes you more and more of practice and grace and abundance through your practice 🙏🏽💕
I was really enjoying this playing of the didgeridoo in a meditative kind of way. I read your comment that made me laugh!! Kind of lost the moment but the laugh was worth it
Red shirt is technically un-faultable < (thats is not a word) He had many techniques and executed them all without error...! But Hat Guy had so much fun while playing, you just wanted to join in and smile. I’m just shaking my head cause the talent and skill I just saw.... They’re both my favourite...!!!
For me it just sounds like beatboxing through a didgeridoo. Atleast in my opinion this is not the strength of a didgeridoo. Its like as if i would beatbox through a flute, which some people do, but it doesnt demonstrate the full capability of a flute, since it is not designed for beatboxing and therefor it sounds weird to me. But eventually when this developes more over the time, maybe it will show some potential combined with beatbox.
Ayo Zalem!!!! Its me! As always!!! Fuck sakes my man, I still seriously admire your every move musically. You've gone as far as to not only get me playing, actively, near your level now by the way! But! I've also started to learn French to get a better feeling for more of your content in depth. I sincerely appreciate your previous Christmas wishes, and genuinely send the best of energy to yourself and family/friends, once again my distant friend. You're absolutely one of a kind sir Zalem. A mind blowing influence, and awesome man. Thank you for your encouragement and support on my musical, and life journey
I'm sure if I never listened to classical music, nor been a classically trained musician, I would've reaction to competitions like the Krainev competition the same way I reacted to this.
no you cant the sound will not proliferate around the straw just trying to get attention I am 13 and I am making a didg at school in tamworth australia
beatboxers have a natural affinity with the didge, but they have to be careful not to use it purely as something to beatbox through. still great … but the didge itself has to be the prime character of the instrument to make the most of it.
Yuck! Who would want sloppy seconds on a didgeridoo? And, I thought the whole idea was to make harmonic overtones. Beatbox might be a cool addition to the sound, but you are missing out on the depth of the instrument without the overtone interplay.
This is the best kind of comedy ever. A bunch of French Caucasian beatboxers acting like they can play digeridoo. The punchline is, a room full of other Caucasians paid to see it. Lol. Lé Comedy Supreme
Why would it seem odd? Every culture has competitions of some form or another. It is human nature. You don't think a couple old aborigines have ever sat down on a hickory stump and said boy let me tell ya what. I bet you didn't know but I'm a didge a playa too, and if you care to take a dare, I'll bet that i'm better than you.
