Also der Kalte Krieg war doch heißer als man denkt.
I prefer the now ongoing 4th Reich although East Germany coolness would be missed. In my unpopular opinion, a Reich is defined by a united Germany starting from 1871's Prussia for the 1st, and the 4th one starts right after reunification post berlin wall collapse.

West Germany was, in fact, americanised quickly while the east wasn't russified and instead kept the language untouched (west reformed it), immigrants were mostly not allowed (unless they came from aspirant socialist countries), militarism was still part of society and NVA created new marches and songs, progressivism was marked by the German culture (instead of west liberalism) with an heavy grip over german past&proud excluding only the Nazi regime Etc. Etc. Ddr was, in fact, closer to Weimar/Imperial/balkanized Germany than the BDR who quickly became a inbred creature between USA and Rhenish culture

Why is "kompanie" translated as "guard" when it obviously means "Company" and why is "Battalion" translated as "Brigade" when it obviously means "Battalion"? That entire translation is just awful. "Our Border Company from the Border Battalion" is what it means, not "Our Border Guard from the Border Brigade"
It was a austrian soldier who translated this for me. According to him, he used border Guards instead of border kompanie because it is a Guard Company. Their objective as a force is to be stationed, as a guard. He didn't gave me any answer however as why it should be brigade instead of battalion, however...
@@Gustavogukpa border guard company would be the most accurate, Grenzer being the border guard. Would also work with the correct translations for battalion and brigade (which are spelled identically in both English and German) instead of calling the battalion a brigade and then dropping the brigade entirely. Don't get me wrong, I don't blame you for this, just want to help give feedback to make your videos even better
