In east-german schools music lessons contained a lot of actual singing: 50% folk songs and 50% marching and party songs of the working class (Kampf- und Parteilieder der Arbeiterklasse). We actually hated these, but until today I still know all the lyrics. This "Ami, Go Home!" was unfortunately not part of our curriculum, because of its references to a unified Germany (father Rhine & Loreley) - but it is i.m.o. the most striking of its kind.
It's kinda ironic, for ok a western lens at least, the communist Germany was so traditional in its curriculum compared to what gets taught and cherished today

Du solltest Dich mal mit dem Fach Geschichte auseinandersetzen. Die Bundesrepublik ist (zum Glück) Mitglied der NATO und gestattet damit anderen NATO-Armeen auch den Aufenthalt auf ihrem Territorium. Sicher, dass das Lied aus dem Osten ist? "Go Home!" habe ich auch viel im Westen gelesen, und der Begriff "Vater Rhein" passst wohl irgendwie auch nicht gerade zu einem DDR-Begriff. Eher hätte man sich was in Sache Spree oder Elbe ausgedacht. Vor Allem wo doch die Spree in Sache Berlin wohl etwas sinnvoller wäre. PS: Lag Bonn eigentlich in der US-Besatzungszone, oder war es Frankreichs Gebiet ?
