Dieselboy has been putting it down for the states. Followed him from cd Drum and Bass selections from 1996 and all after. Seen him live in 1995 at Halloween rave in slc. Utah and few other times. The man is consistent at kicking ass.
I was a late bloomer to the electronic music scene but I owe my love of music to this man. I was a kid playing Half-Life and when I first heard A Solider's Story I was hooked for life. Met him later in 2005ish at the Lizard Lounge in Dallas during a Planet of the Drums tour. I hope the people there understood the legend they were witness to.
@@SudoYETI I knew that POTD was somewhere around 2005-2006. Caught that set here in Columbus. This dude hooked me hooked from projectHUMAN. What a legend.
Haha that's awesome, myself as well when I was young. I still have a copy of 97 Octane that he signed when he was doing a little record release around the NOVA area at a Tower Records. Great to see him keeping it going.
This set is amazing. It's so great to see DnB is alive and well, and he's still doing his thing. It's amazing what you can do with 4 CD decks and that much experience. I've already heard so many tracks that were huge back in the day when they were playing them on dubplates in just the first 12 minutes. I have many of these on vinyl and it's just fascinating seeing him do these double, triple drops and being so creative with this mix, and cover so many of the subgenres around at the time fast on those Pioneers. I remember when he was spinning on 2 sl1200's that I believe he had tweaked back then and turned the pitch up past 8, then was mixing on 3 sometimes 4 I believe and would flow through a lot of tracks.. back when they had 611 records in Philly. I'm just waiting for him to drop Invid in this mix, I hope he's still producing; not sure if Tech Itch is still around who he would produce with back then. This man is a legend and helped bring jungle to the East Coast US in a major way. Respect and Amen Brother from DC!
Technical Itch is most definitely still around and still producing some of the best heavy drum&bass out. I just bought a few tunes from his latest LP last week. Bangers
@@j.gray_463dnb5 thanks, I'll have to check into it. I haven't been keeping up with dnb in a long time, and need to start dusting off my record collection and also start listening to more of the newer stuff that's out there. Been into Jungle since pre 90's, and have a huge collection, might think about streaming some sets someday, since all the records I own are now old school. Man, time flies!
He was how I fkn found dnb been a basshead ever seen him an planet of the drums more times than I can count late 90s early 2k an still listening at 38 years old 😂 south FL was the home of the bass
Andy C would be my top pick, the man is the executioner for a reason. Damian does his thing though. I’d probably call him the Andy C of the US which he would definitely appreciate the compliment
I will NEVER understand why MC's are a thing in D&B. I mean I can count the times when I was at a party and the MC was not annoying on one hand. It is utterly bizarre to me that they are still around.
I get it. They can be cool to come in on a random track or two. I was so excited to see LTJ Bukem in Boulder, Co in 98 and he had MC Conrad with him. Dude would not shut the F up for one single bar. Stop making it about you. Ever since then… This isn’t rap. In D&B the DJs and Producers are still king/queen. Anyway, some people must dig it… more power to them. Just my opinion.
Finally the truth!!😂😂😂 Dude isn’t even rhyming or anything and when he finally tries it sounds like crap, lol. He’s Just trying to seem cool so he can brag to chicks after the show to seem famous when he’s a nobody.
LEGEND. I absolutely worshipped this dude as the only D&B dj in my hometown in the 2000s. 25 years later and still bumping Dieselboy, Tech Itch, Kaos etc. etc. always reminded me of fight music for the future.
Mad respect. This man has been sendin fire thru the decks for over 20 years. Brings me back to the late 90's/ early 00's in PB-Cle with him lightin up the floors with Diggabeatz, Dara, AK, Grooverider, and the many great local DJ's we had.
Yup, Denver here too. I seen Dieselboy a dozen times minimum since 1999. The Root, Snake Pit, Vinyl and many other venues + raves. Planet of the Drums several times. Dieselboy is the King of D&B! 🔈🔉🔊
It always sound like some super white dude from Chicago who works at Chucky Cheese during the day but just had his 1st baby and that dream of being Eminem is still controlling his night life and this trailer got to go but then food stamp don’t buy baby formula in 2020. The struggle is real. Stay hungry
Thank you for posting this! Dieselboy, please continue being you. All you do makes me incredibly happy, I can't explain the burst of energy that fills my body listening to your mixes. Thank you!
I'm sorry, but one of the most disrespectful things you can do is call Dieselboy "old school sound". Dieselboy IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE DNB as a sound AND as a culture. DIESELBOY IS DNB!!! Dieselboy has proven time and time again through almost 30 years that his sound evolves yet remains relevant and murderous! Hell IMO System Upgrade and Sixth Sense are harder and better than most of todays DNB (and "rebranded DNB genres") all together.
Mad respect to this man. I been a fan since his ollll days wit potdrums..thanks a ton for putting this set up. I know hes gonna murders those pioneers lmao. Bigs up. Simon kelly n c mt airy
He is the very very best composer and dj out there . Best Original soundcrafting in drum and bass and anything he anything. I'm so sick of watching shitty D j's in let it roll in & rampage joke ass festivals when this man should be out there dominating the planet.
Welcome to the world of advanced DnB keep droppin the sickness Damien. shout out to ALL the bboys, dAncers & party people ALL over the world. dAnce sAfe; one love:
Is that Messinian flapping his trap all over Dieselboy's set? I don't know who he is and don't care who he is. He's annoying af, like a radio dj talking over a song while I'm trying to make a mix tape.
I was very embedded in party scene in LA from 1998-2004 and these tracks take me right back👍👍…Im having orange show riot flashbacks! Anyone else @ nocturnal 98’ getting gassed?
Holy f*, was wondering what was up (39:20), and then threw down hard with one of my favorite tracks!!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WYtijadumA8.html Wait for it.............! (Not used to an MC over the track!)
