Seriously though, that Lancet article is from 1979. We've since sequenced the human Genome and with the use of next-generation sequencing we now know that there are a variety of genetic variants which result in people having different responses to various nutrients, toxins, medications, etc. Personalized medicine already exists, so I presume it won't be long before we have personalized nutrition. Your one-size-fits all approach to nutrition is as outdated as throwing high-dose chemotherapy at any and all malignancies without taking into account genetically if the tumor would even respond to the particular therapy.

@@swissladydriver8980 Personalization of diet is basically minutia. If you cant digest certain beans then eat other beans. If you cant digest gluten dont eat it. But if you're implying that some individuals are going to need to eat dietary cholesterol and saturated fat, well that's just a bit ridiculous considering that the basic physiology of all human beings is thesame. You arent going to have some people thriving on all meat diet and others thriving on a plant based diet according to their genes. Humans are going to have very little actual variation in their diets, because they all belong to the same species with the same body physiology.
@swissladydriver8980
@swissladydriver8980 5 лет назад
@@ApexRevolution But that's precisely my Point, some People are thriving on plant-based diets, some are thriving on meat/animal fat based diets and some are thriving on something in-between. A fairly recent study from (maybe Cornell) identifed genes in certain populations which make those populations better suited to process a plant based diet, conversely, this allele was not found in Inuit populations. There have been gene variants identified that cause some people to gain weight when they eat more than a certain amount of saturated fat daily, while others will not gain weight. Some people can't tolerate Cilantro (coriander) because it tastes like soap to them and the cause is genetic. Likewise, only the people who can detect the smell of Asparagus in urine are able to produce this chemical when eating asparagus. Some people can metabolize alcohol with ease, others, not so much. Sure, physiologically, we all need the same basic nutrients and adequate calories, but after that, there are many, many differences, a huge amount of which are as yet undiscovered.

Only 20% of the cholesterol in your bloodstream comes from the food you eat! Your body makes the rest from raw materials already in it like fats proteins and sugars. So says Harvard Medical School an article February 2017 in Time Magazine. Recent Studies have shown that eating cholesterol and fat in general in the diet does not lead to heart disease or stroke but improve the cardiovascular system and does not lead to unhealthy cholesterol levels in the blood. The study also showed that eggs have certain nutrients in it that actually lower inflammation in the body which contributes to a healthier heart. This study was conducted by a half a million people in China from China's top Cardiologist. The name of the article is. Eating an egg a day may help keep heart disease away. People who eat Eggs Daily had an 11% lower chance of cardiovascular disease and 18% chance lower of dying of heart disease than people who did not eat eggs. The benefits seem to be the strongest for a stroke as 26% had a lower risk of a bleeding- related strokes and a 10% lower risk of clot related stroke. This proves that cholesterol is vital in lubricating the cardiovascular system not clogging it up which is what the American public has been brainwashed with.

Homa ir is insulin resistance. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6165066/ You may have the wrong impression that Dr greger promotes eating low quality carbs like white bread or whatever Keto proponents used to eat before they went to Keto, however, Dr greger promotes a whole foods plant based diet and the sheer amount of fiber you get from that kind of diet actually lowers insulin drastically while giving you 1000 X more antioxidants and vitamins than Keto could ever give. Stop relying on youtube videos for your research, just go to pubmed and type Keto, you will see some positives when you see overweight participants that used to eat trash switch to it, pay attention to the results and findings right them down. Now with a strong and open mind do the same for plant based whole foods, keep your brain calm pay attention to findings, differentiate why certain things were found and why not look, look at who paid for study, come on keep strong now and don't excitedly jump to conclusions too early. Etc etc Now try find negatives for Keto and whole plant based diets, write them down, pay attention to how these were determined, who paid for study etc. With time and honestly if you really want to know the truth you could spend maybe 2-3 hours, that's it and you will already have some clarity as to the direction in which the scientific consensus leads. Look up the history of Ireland and potatoes. And where did you get the fire to cook your meat millions of years ago. Cooking with fire only goes back about 400.000 years and was mainly used to cook tubers and root vegetables. This was how we developed our brains. Meat was in very short supply only eaten very occasionally during festivals. You didn't do very well in history did you Laszlo the troll.

@Eiswueste
@Eiswueste 5 лет назад
Learn logic. If X CAN cause cancer, it doesn't mean that all cancer is caused by X. Also the development of cancer is complex and multicausal and not fully understood. Genetic disposition, environmental factors and luck play a role in it. So yeah...You could be smoking for 50 years and not develop cancer. In a sample size big enough to sufficiently eliminate variance, negative behaviours like smoking or bad diet will always decrease the average life span. By changing your behaviour you can never be certain but you can decrease your risk.

With all due respect, how is this worth 5 minutes of my time? Association and correlation are pointers that something should be investigated, but they don't prove anything or identify cause. Bonnie, that’s not how the scientific process works. Not every video needs to have hardline proof. Sometimes there isn’t a neat conclusion or an absolute. Often, research is ongoing. You just look at the best available data so far and use it to mitigate your risk.

Not everyone can be vegan, I went vegan for a year (whole foods plant based) and developed really bad IBS. I never had that and now I have to deal with it! At 16! Legumes bloat me badly and so do a lot of other plant foods, I need to eat animal products otherwise I have no other source of protein :/ I'm allergic to nuts and soy also. I feel way better eating animal products, I'm not always hungry and I rarely get bloated since cutting down on some plant foods. I swear someone better not say I did veganism wrong because I didn't and would often use cronometer too.

These study's are done with people that are not on healthy diets and are not eating enough fruits and veggies, hence the outcome is cancer and bad cholesterol, but, on a healthy plant based diet the consumption of animal products of 30% might even be beneficial. Lots of people who are on a healthy paleo diet(mainly plants) combined with some kind of intermittent fasting are in prime health. Therefore, until such study's aren made we'll never know if animal products are really that bad. This conclusion is kind of mentioned at the end of the study presented last on the video.

What do you suppose the people in these studies were eating alongside their high animal product meals? I would hazard a guess at high starchy carbs, sugars and refined rubbish. I would also suggest that yes the risks will increase when people eat high levels of animal protein along with these other foods and that if someone wishes to continue eating large ammounts of rubbish they would do better to stop eating the animal products. However if a person cuts out all the rubbish and high ammounts of starchy carbs and sugars then they would most likely not have these negative correlations with cancers and animal foods! Where are the studies that that show people on a Whole Food Low Carb or Ketogenic diet have a high correlation of cancers to cholesterol? There aren't any! It is the mix of macros that is the problem! Get your facts straight Mr Gregor. You are an extremely disingenuous person!

Cholesterol molecules are indistinguishable from each other except for their isotopic composition. On regard to cholesterol it's irrelevant what the animals you're going to eat have consumed. Grass, like any other plant, doesn't contain any cholesterol. All cholesterol is synthesised by animals. Bacteria, archaea, algae, fungi, protozoa and other living organisms don't synthesise any cholesterol either.
