I got my diff drop from peak and it came with spacers for the skid plate. you should of changed your cv boots the factory ones are cheap thin almost like plastic. I got cv boots from peak too and they are twice as thick and very rubbery.
Walt, what did the diff drop kit do to the front driveshaft angle? The weird little joint (Birfield?) at the end is fairly weak and needs to stay in a pretty straight line.
Only changed the angle ever so very slightly I mean think about when you go with a BDS 4 inch lift the diff's gonna have to drop 4 inch's that's really going change the drive shaft angle so I don't really know yet my friend!
Ok partner, just to add some info on the BDS to think about. I have been following this kit since it was a prototype on G2Skier's truck. (As a matter of fact it is the truck used in the BDS advertising for the ZR2 lift.) Originally it was stated that it was a 6 inch kit but when finally released it came out as a 4 inch. Never saw the reason why but I felt it had to do with assorted angles. In any diff drop kit, when the front diff drops (to keep the CV angles good) it places the front driveshaft in a really bad angle. BDS compensates for this by placing an adapter plate between the transmission and the transfer case. This allows the installer to rotate or " clock" the transfer case to maintain a proper driveshaft angle that would be as straight as possible thereby reducing/ eliminating driveshaft carnage.
