There isnt really a rank restriction on any mechanic imo. If you find it fun to practice, then go ahead and practice those things. Obviously if you play to rank up, theres other things more important to learn before those "fancy mechanics". For example, (not bragging just giving an example) im barely diamond 1 but i freestyle outside of ranked and can hit backwards shuffles to double backboard resets quite often in training. Even tho i might be mechanically more skilled than other plat 3/diamond 1 players, doesnt mean im better than them in ranked matches.

Practiced 5days 24-7 when in silver just to be more advance and it pays off bacause my opponent left game almost everytime

Im in d1 i knew how to airdribble and flip reset on silver and i hit them anytime the bAll rolls up the wall i could make an airdribble out of almost anything lol and i pays off in diamond usually get a goal

For me it took about 5 minutes to do the flip resets and like 20 to airdribble but like 2 hours to flip resert like 10/10 time and like 3 for airdribbles

From my experience, air dribbles straight at net are the least effective type of attack. They are too easy to defend and most of the time simply aren't worth the effort. I had more ceiling shots scored in total on me and that says something when ceiling shots are harder to pull off and much more rare. Air dribbles to backboard are a good way to center, though. But then again, you're better off by shooting it there anyway. Air dribbles are only effective when they're mastered, ceiling shots when they're decent already. And flicks are generally a better option than both of them but it always depends on situations and opportunities.

@@ensco7 air dribbling is one of those skills to learn that is mostly useful to get used to controlling the ball in the air and predicting its movements. id say air dribbles in game serve only to force 50s if youre in the air (either to defend in your half or just to buy time in offence). in rl its all about wearing down the defence, since its easier to defend rather than attack, so any means counts but as you said just getting air dribbling to net is almost useless.

@@ReubA Camping in goal is a terrible idea, it makes it so you have to heavily rely on your teammates carrying you. And it also makes it harder for them to do so because they're 2v3 on offense. Your brother got extremely lucky to get hard carried like that

Probably somewhere in the middle so the angle you need to get to line it up to the goal is average for what you'd need to get in a game.

Around gold/ plat like 2 seasons ago I hadn’t really played ranked as an intense rotation or grinding positioning I had began flip reseting etc. I decided this season to actually try and now I’m at champion last season I didn’t play ranked at all . But I guess what your saying is right

I feel you... I cant get out of G1 in solo, but im D2 in doubles

im D1 in doubles but im G2 in solos and on a losing streak

the problem is that solos are so different, no passing, no rotation. and if you try a crazy air dribble or ceiling shot you instantly get punished. you cant go on aerials unless its a challange. its basically only 50/50s our playing passive and going for a counter against offensive players

​@@jackkelley5683 I can also air dribble in free play, that's easy. But I severely doubt you can score it consistently. If you can, then you probably should work more on game sense if you're only in plat 1. If you can't, stop going for them as they waste your boost and puts you out of position (try it in casual 1v1 instead, as you're not ruining your teammates and your rank). That you can air dribble doesn't mean you're good either way, it only means you have potential if you put enough time into other things, such as rotation, positioning, saves, and power shots. I know this is coming from a plat 3 who spent his entire day on practising air dribbles, but I don't use them in ranked. Instead, I rotate and let my teammates play. Also, never boast in a comment section. You might have noticed you have 0 likes. That's because no one cares about your abilities and lack of others. Stay humble. It can mean you can get 2 touches into the corner 10% of the time or it can mean you can score 90% of the time while holding air roll right during the entire dribble. Explain what you mean in more than 9 words so people understand. And as I said in my earlier comment, you're plat 1 because of a reason, right? So no matter how good you are on air dribbles, it doesn't matter. What matter is that you are still putting your time into the wrong thing if you want to rank up. Communication is always on the receiver's terms. Prove of this is that you thought I was flaming you, but I did everything I could to get my point across without sounding rude or mean. So if people (like me) believe you boasted, then try to change your wording the next time. Third-person is a good way of doing this. I reckon training more difficult mechanics are good as you learn car control on the way, but plat 1 is too early. I believe Wayton is right, diamond is a good level to start training this. If you don't care about your rank and just want to have fun, then I get it. But then you should explain that in your comment. This is a tutorial, the majority of the comment section will be tryhards.
