Ironically, my ribs were my easiest tattoos to sit through. Idk if the way I was laying was just comfortable enough to offset the pain or what, but yeah wasn’t bad for me

Weird that they watched you be in awful pain for 2 hours before deciding to use the spray. I've seen a lot of people talk about how their tattoo artists just refused to use any sort of numbing spray or cream for the sole reason of "don't be a baby". Different people have different pain tolerances and getting a tattoo isn't about the pain, it's about the end result, so getting some sort of numbing offered should be common place before you even start the tattoo

@henrietab2659 Because the numbing spray only works on broken skin. And 2, I recently was told, I sat for a little over 4 hours and was asking for numbing spray, but that artist told me it would interfere with healing? I did have that experience where someone numbed my tattoo a bunch and it became super dull and faded really quick vs the tattoos that were not sprayed at all. Hence I was like ok I'll hang in there with no spray or if I really can't we can do another session if that happens. In my experience, it's true the spray did dull the ink, I took care of it the exact same way I do all my tats but the one that was numbed came out awful. The artist said yes you're "paralyzing" your skin...I think he used that word?

@@henrietab2659 you’re only allowed up to 3 sprays of the numbing spray the place I go to, and trust me I needed it for the shading 😭 numbing cream is a life saver so I’m always using numbing cream

@@tianam2302 I guess lol I guess I just personally don’t mind drama free shows about people who are good at a certain skill. It’s why I like masterchef Australia- there’s rarely added drama for the heck of it. They just give all contestants an equal chance on an equal challenge in order to gage their skills and determine a winner. It’s nice

Nah I disagree, the point of being a good tattoo artist is also among other things like skill of course,to be able to work with a client, to be able to adapt to contingencies like skin texture, to be able to work with the shape of the body at a given placement. If you're going to use fake skin flat canvases, you might as well just host a tattoo style drawing competition on paper,you could get farther and farther from the totality of what tattooing entails with that reasoning, and that would defeat the purpose of a tattoo competition.

@@wattthefaqameye1146 tattooing skin (or fake skin) and drawing on paper are first of all, two very different things. I agree with the idea of skin texture and body placement, but things like working with your client and their capacities normally happens in an environment where multiple appointments can be taken, breaks can be taken more freely, and communication can happen extensively before and after the tattoo. On the show they put them on ridiculously strict time limits which affects all of these things a lot. Not only does that mean they may make a worse tattoo, but then someone has a bad tattoo on them for years or even life because their artist was too pressed for time. It’s just unnecessarily stressful for both artist and ‘skin’ and creates drama for the sake of drama. Imagine going on the show thinking “oh I’ve sat really well for my other tattoos so this should go well” and for whatever reason that time you don’t sit well. You piss off the artist tattooing your skin, you’ll probably ended up with a bad or unfinished tattoo, and the the artist blames you for their downfall when they get eliminated. I just think it isn’t worth it

I never even realized he was on this show, I just knew him from his youtube channel. I freaked out when I saw him. Now I understand why he's so popular and well respected

U didn’t know he was Marine while he was the on the show. The same season had few miltary artists on there with Chris .
