To me Jesse's octo-bunny-fish was so much better executed and way more creative than this old eagle I've seen hundreds of times before. I mean, just look at that damn tooth. The shading on this thing is absolutely flawless, his understanding of light and dark is chef's kiss, and so are the details (like the reflection in those eyes. I mean, what?).

I love it how judges say Jesse's tattoo has anatomy issues. How? It's something what does not even exist! Like, an eagle is an existing animal. But Jesse's tattoo is something straight up out of his mind, just like children's imagination. You can't say: "Hey, it has anatomy issues and that doesn't make sense!" Well, let me tell you, the whole purpose of that tattoo is to make it no sense. It's his own imagination from something what doesn't exist on this planet... And putting such stuff together is art. Jesse knows how art works, if you like it or not. He is special. He is like still a little child from the inside, and those people are mainly the best people to talk with.

Anthony is one of my favorite contestants to ever be on the show, but there's no way that comic book character was the best tattoo of the day. It was underwhelming. The character didn't look great, it looked really dark, the wings looked like he didn't even try, and it just doesn't look like a comic book illustration. I have no idea what the judges see in it. Anyway, I still love Anthony as a tattoo artist and the rest of his tattoos were like 10x better than this one, I just get so confused by the judges sometimes.

I can’t be the only one who thinks Jesse just looks like a new school tattoo.

Jesse would’ve beat Anthony if he would’ve used bright colors for that new school piece he did . Them muddy colors just didn’t cut it

Every time I watch one of these I just imagine the producers being like, "Ok, now everyone shake their heads like they're super disgusted at the what the judges just said, and then loudly complain about being given a tough challenge in a reality competition show."

I cant imagine a more opposing pair than Jesse and Anthony. Such an interesting face off.

It really seemed biased in favor of Anthony. I don’t get it. His tats are ok but not how the judges describe them. It’s like they’re looking at a different tattoo altogether.

No disrespect to jessie but i could never see myself getting his work it's really hard to get a tattoo and everytime someone looks at it you have to explain some crazy story behind it or it doesn't make sense at all

I've been a tattoo artist for 15 years. I have never once said " I don't tattoo this crap on people". Even if I hate the subject matter. I specifically hate religious tattoos and script. However I do that shit, and take that money happily.

If a tattoo artist can't draw, I don't see them as artists. Many of the contests on this show really can't draw (at least, under pressure). It makes me concerned about the majority of people who have tattoo shops. My niece (a talented artist) draws all my tats and I only go to shops that do not bitch about it.

Jesse is a one way street. I understand being the greatest at your craft. But being great at every style is always better than being the best at only one.
