Trying it with a Spitfire formation of 4. Only the lead is appearing - no sign of a formation. Do you only have the option in jets, and only a wingman? I noticed I am only getting Client option and not Player. Fixed! I set the other 3 to High Skill instead of Client. This is great...thanks a lot for the post - just what I was looking for!
I'm trying to figure out how to get a wingman that I can fly off of. To practice approaching, getting close to and maintaining position, even in turns. Yeah, I know a tanker...but I like the Hornet and that's what I want to play with.
Check the formation section and see if the command to take lead or "lead" is there. If not then you have to add the jet in the mission editor as an adjacent flight to yours so in essence it won’t be your wingman.

Excellent tutorial! I've been trying to figure this out. Do you know how to start this from the ground and have you wingman follow you out for takeoff?
That’s an entirely new video that I have to read up on. It’s all about the mission editor and triggers to make the wingman do what you want. Those that know the ME inside and out know how to do it but if I find a simple way to get this done I’ll share it.
