Great lesson. I have played this game since Lock On. Learning new things never ends. I am planning a new DCS video I look forward to trying some new views out. The sounds relative to the jet are good I think the only thing missing is that rumble in the ear thing safety from a computer chair i say.👍6
Thank very much Juice for this tutorial video. I am one of those who requested for this tutorial. Your's is pretty simple to implement compared to others that I saw. 🥂 Edited: Kudos need to be given to Razbam for detailed work on the F-15E. The strike Eagle looks so spectacular in this video.
Thanks for this. Great shots! it seems that sometimes the heat blur gets to be too much. In one case, the wheels got blurry when the exhaust was way behind it. Any way to tone that down?
Do you know I was wondering about that and I even turned mine down because I’ve never had a problem with the heat blower before but I think it’s the Module isn’t nailed down yet as far as the F-15E development.
I'm going to be that guy because I'm a photographer and I'm as good at it as I am a prick about it. At 2:00, the term you're looking for is either lens or focal compression. It's the illusion of compressing the distance of the scene as the focal length (zoom) increases. This mimics real world photography and videography because, as observers, we're often not allowed to get very close to these jets when in operation. Depth of Field refers to the area out of focus which is a function on focus and aperture. Closing the aperture (How big the hole is that lets in the light) increases depth of field and reduces depth of focus. Focusing to minimum focus distance will increase blur on further away objects. Meanwhile you can focus to infinity which will maximize blur to nearby objects but anything past a certain distance all the way to infinite (It's how we do astrophotography) will be in focus. I do highly recommend looking at reShade, there is a pack of shaders that you can select for install that simulate cameras extremely effectively which allows me to get some of the shots I do. They mimic real world cameras extremely well, letting you mess with focal length, aperture, and focus, plus can simulate other things like grain and chromatic aberration if you want to get really artsy with it. Anyways, hopes this helps anyone who stumbles across this.
ctrl +s would turn off sound for ya. I learned recently that dcs screenshots default to 90% resolution. I followed a guide that created a cfg file that raised it to 200%. It also saves it as a jpeg which compresses the file. I believe in settings is where you can change it to png file type.
Do you do this in MP, or SP? I generally do a flight, and record on a separate app and save it, I don't save the track, but re-fly it and use camera controls at certain places (this is in SP), and if things go well, I can do several clips and cuts. It's those tips you just gave that will help me, because I don't get some of those cool closeups I want, along with the nice zoom in and outs I want. Thanks for those tips.
In both sometimes...in MP, the track saves automatically for me...and in SP, I have to remember to save my track. Sometimes I host an MP mission by myself to generate the track file. Right on about getting the closeups...I'll be on the backpacking trail for three weeks starting tomorrow but when I get back, hit me up with any questions. ~Juice
Are you in Vegas? You flew over my house a few different times in this video lol I also work everyday right across the from the speedway on the North East end of the base doing ATV Tours.
Slightly jealous your Mudhen replay tracks work. I have to go through a dedicated server to get them to work but then the landings have sunken wheels lol
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP Do you start cold or hot most of the time? When I start cold the track begins okay, but once on the runway my position has shifted a few meters left or right of centerline.
how have the track files been recently? I haven't used them in a long time but I remember they used to be kinda out of sync with what actually happened Ie contact with the tanker but visually 300ft of separation lol
Good question and I'm glad you asked...they are still spotty at best. I found one that lasted 30 minutes for this Closed Traffic Pattern video. Some, with Multi-player last 10-15 minutes most times, and if you save a track, then DCS updates, often that track no longer lasts as it did before. I would love to see them make the replay files more reliable but the reason they are there is for track log troubleshooting for bugs and such. ED internal benefits from them from what I believe.
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP Ahhh sounds about right I did notice for multiplayer the track file is a tad bit more reliable if it is pulled from the server vs the users system
