Muthuswami Dikshitar, one of the Trinities in Carnatic Music has composed a number of kritis on various deities. All his compositions are in Sanskrit. They are also very powerful because they have the Bheeja Mantra. U Srinivas has begun this album with the kriti Gananayakam in raga Rudrapriya followed by Sri Saraswati Namosthuthe in praise of Goddess Saraswati - The Goddess of learning. In Govardhana Gireesam in raga Hindolam, Dikshitar explains the effects of chanting the name of lord Govinda. Sri Kanthimathim in raga Hemavathi is in praise of Goddess Kanthimathi of Tirunelveli. The album ends with an English note Rajivalochana Ramachandra. Dikshithar was a contemporary of the western composer J S Bach and has composed many songs in the western style too.

Typical U. Srinivas is fast. He rarely does slow music, but this jukebox is so soothing! I especially loved the raga Hindolam, because I know a song in that raga! I wish I could play Hindolam raga like you! Your Hindolam cannot be described in words. The only words I can say are blissful and soothing! No other words. Just beautiful, and just amazing!

Listening to Deekshithars’ s krithis you can feel that particular deity is so near by you same with Thirupugazh and one commonality is both Arunagirinathar and Deekshithar were blessed by lord Muruga. See the lyrics what a kavituvam even though written in Sanskrit . It’s really paining to see people calling Tyagarajar a beggar or insulting gods especially Murugar. Praying God to give everyone good thoughts

Pavan Kumar who are the accompanying artistes. I searched the internet but couldn't find information. Mrudangam, my hunch is Patri, going by the basal tone of the percussion. Among the contemporary Mrudangists he is the most articulate artistic and handles the base note with such deftness and appeal. While, Mandolin U Srinivas' is unsurpassed, the support artists should be credited for their role. Shame, Music India didn't do in their RU-vid upload, where most patrons come looking for them

Raga Hemavati was just out of this world! The only raga that was not at all soothing was the raga poornashadjam. Can you please choose a more soothing one for that? Besides that one, every raga and song was soothing. In this comment, I am going to label songs from the most soothing to the fastest. If anyone wants to know, read it. Most soothing:Govardhana Gireesam-Raga Hindolam Second-Srikanthimati-Raga Hemavati Third:Sri Saraswati Namostute-Raga Arabhi Fourth:Rajivalochana Ramachandra, which doesn’t have any raga. Fastest:Gananayakam-Raga Poornashadjam.
