One thing you cannot take away from Dim Ojukwu was the depth of his intelligence and his unparalleled bravery. He's among the few brightest of his generation. Rest on the Ikemba.
@mas-udal-hassan9277We do not ask for pity. We make no apologies for the social phenomenon known as the Biafran revolution; rather, we proclaim with pride the inevitability of our struggle, the indestructability of our people and the assured finality of our success" Dim Chukwuemeke Ojukwu
@mas-udal-hassan9277 ...And that is true, however The south east is at least, more significantly developed in HDI,Literacy rate, economy, more than the North. That is remarkable considering most of its entire economy was destroyed and being blockaded killing millions
Nna anyi ukwu Ojukwu, Dalu so. You are very articulate and am very proud to hail from the east. The struggle continues and Ndi Igbo will never give up the fight. Igbo Kwenu!
"The Igbos are the most loyal people in the world. They always give to whoever is ready to do the job and say, "Go ahead and do it and report back to us." That is the Igbo for you. And for as long as you do what you have been asked to do and you do it creditably, they will give you total support." ---- Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. Tell Magazine. September 18, 2000.
Ojukwu would have made a better leader than azikwe. Azikwe destroyed southern unity and started mistrust between southern tribes azikwe was also happy to sell his people for ceremonial presidency. Azikwe will also oppose secession just to spite awolowo and western Nigeria I'm sure of Ojukwu led east things would have been different
He spoke fluent Yoruba, much better than most of the others of his social class, including Yorubas. He was a very close friend of my Yoruba family and he always spoke in a mixture of English and Yoruba with my uncles and my mother.
He was clever than the whole of Nigeria put together. He got them into signing the Aburi agreement and behold only him understands what it means. Just fighting for his people. A warrior...
For me tribalism aside I like a man that is multi lingual I think its very clever I am not igbo obviously but he was a very well educated man May his soul rest in peace oh and his yoruba is ace
We do not ask for pity. We make no apologies for the social phenomenon known as the Biafran revolution; rather, we proclaim with pride the inevitability of our struggle, the indestructability of our people and the assured finality of our success" Dim Chukwuemeke Ojukwu
The hero of Africa, the first President of Biafra, The real excellency Odogwu ka ibe ya one of Biafra land studied in Britain at earlier stages of his life, and he was proficient not only in English both also in so many Nigerian languages especially Igbo language as his mother's tongue....May his soul continue to rest in peace...pls I dont want to get emotionally! 😭😭😭😭
Even the so call kanu who claimed to be fighting for the igbos is just pretending. This very Man called Ojukwu is so humble , direct and more original in his approach. Kanu should learn from this man Ojukwu. I admire Ojukwu. Very truthful.
Nigeria is suffering cos they never allow credible men to lead this country. It's a punishment for them though for all atrocities they have committed against humanity.
A true Nigerian - pleasantly surprised he speaks Yoruba well. I love my Igbo brothers and sisters and I hope we can come together and make our country great. We are greater together and that’s the fact
This is the highest prophecy I have ever had, he said wait and see that he is a young man and he has reincarnated in the name of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu the spream leader of the indegenious people of Biafra, Ipob, oh what a prophecy
"..we continued to invest in Nigeria, and placed all our security of life as well as of property in the hands of Nigerian Government and Nigerian Constitution. In 1966 our folly became real tragedy when massacre followed massacre in May, June, July, August, September and October of that year. We lost over 30,000 of our kith and kin. We had to resettle over 2 million refugees, our people who had fled from all parts of Nigeria." -- Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu at the OAU. August 5, 1968.
True heroes.. U r d son of man and shall be remembered not in the books but in our hearts and souls. The land has your name which we shall pass down to our generations. #BiafraLives2017
@@bolajiolaojo7603 he had fought in the war for over 2 years of the war, but towards the end of the war he fled to France on the plight of political asylum which was granted to him. Returned in 1973. He was fearless. Briafrans were overpowered for obvious reasons. You can't compare Armor tanks made by hand by the Igbos to the wealth of sophisticated War tanks and ammunition the British sponsored the Nigeria-side with
@@tegaebiai8165 so I understand the fact the he was overwhelmed but to lead his people to a war that he wasn't sure he could win leading to the death of almost 3 million of his people shouldn't be a guess work. Secondly to then come out of hiding to marry new wife etc isn't a good way to remember the people he led to die for the noble cause.
@@bolajiolaojo7603 the Biafrans attacked the North first having to do with power tussle and then the Nigerian side retalated with the Operation tail wind. After which Ojukwu went for peace talks but the North refused to have a pact and instead declared war. The Briafrans were forced to war It's not that Ojukwu incited it
@@tegaebiai8165 what will u say about efforts by Nnmandi kanu , lots of my brothers in the southeast are currently been killed thinking Biafra 2.0 has been unleashed
A true leader always seek reconciliation with a former enemy but looking at this thread, the people he led are not the reconcilliatory type. The man ~Ojukwu wanted everyone to know he has made his peace with Gowon.
I care neither for OJUKWU nor GOWON but the recognition of BIAFRAN GENOCIDE. God will punish you people and your useless mentality. I am your AWOLOWO is making peace with the millions of KIDS he starved to death.
Man no one is like in the whole of Igbo land, but i wonder where his first son got the blood he is carrying, very opposite to his father by braveness & wiseness. The great Dim, rip
At the beginning, we nearly got it right . Watch Abubaka Tafawa Belewa and almost all of them at that level from that era, their English is clean clear and precise
Critics claim Ojukwu was intransigent to accepting Gowon's authority but Gowon toppled a legitimate government of Aguiyi Ironsi. It was a criminal act and he and his cohorts ought to be tried as coup-plotters. Gowon along with his fellow culprits are rebels that usurped power from a legitimately constituted authority. Gowon's and subsequent regimes were illegitimate governments. Gowon was intransigent in reneging on Aburi Accord he earlier accepted while serving colonial interests. Anti-Africans
Ironsi never tried the coup plotters who murdered the Premier of Nigeria, Premier of the North, aPremier of the West and many senior Northern and a few Yorubas officers as well. Why?
Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu.. Ikemba.... Eze igbo gburugburu... Your struggle and your love for your people will never be forgotten... The fire of the truth that you ignited will never be quenched from generation to generation untill Biafra is actualized....
@tweenthyfourseventow Does the end justify the means? Do you judge a man by what he did or its outcome? Who determines the time when things happen? Could Hebrew revolt against the Roman Empire in 70 A.D. and that led by Bar Chocba (son of the star) in 332 A.D be adjudged wrong? Is the oppressed wrong for defending himself against his oppressor? Do you blame the innocent and not the wicked?
@bruin03 , You know accusing someone of an act, when there is no record to prove it means nothing.you said Ojukwu Killed his brother, where in history has it being published that he was arrested or even convicted for the mother of his brother. Also, if you don't know Nigerian history you ought to know that, he was the governor general of the eastern province before the war commenced, he was in charge of the safety and security of all easterner at tht time, he was more or less your governor.
The voice of the journalist quizzing Ojukwu is Sowore's. That young man has been passionate about Nigeria since the days of his youth, and has refused to relent too. He deserves a shot at the presidency.
AWESOME I didn't know Ojukwu speak fluent yoruba... I guess he want the best for Nigeria with all its people getting the fair share of its wealth. No need for separation, if you vie for presidency I will vote for you.
So you are clearly saying the problem comes when the door of leadership was closed without you included. Greedy and selfish set of human beings. Rubbish!
People General Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Ikemba 1 of Biafra land RIP our hero, Kai always proud of his Igbo people and ready to defend his people anytime. He never talk much about Biafra war like Chief Nnia Nwaodo every single day he has to remind us about war war war what he witnessed during the war just to panic people but he fight no war those that fought Biafra war doesn't talk much about it and when they do they talk sense and ready to fight again if provoke.
Even until now (2023) none of those who were forced to fight alongside Liegeria army (both dead or living) is proud for their shameful service as Nigeria is still bleeding profusely even 50 yrs after the civil war. Is Yakubu Gowon proud of the Liegeria he is experiencing today (in 2023)?, DEFINITELY NOT. Does percievable unity and peace exist in Nigeriai today (50yrs after the conflict)?, CERTAINLY NOT, it's even worse. Therefore Dr. Ojukwu was right; Nigeria is a forced union which brings more harm than good to the people in it
