Lyrics in English: Mountain breeze Mountain breeze, my amazing country, my endless lake, What days await me as a soldier, You keep coming into my mind from time to time, My amazing homeland, where I was born and raised I wasn't riding, I was walking, Even slower than walking, Been strolling for 15 days In the direction of Omsk I'm at the age of two cycles, the year of the cow By the will of Fate, I went farther away Mountain breeze, my amazing country, you're left behind From the hollow field, we are the only ones I had parents, Of progressed age, Since this song was written, It's been 16 years. Mountain breeze, my amazing country, my endless lake, What days await me as a soldier

Yes, those noises at the beginning represented dogs and wolves. The song is about how in the 1st World War Russia decreed that all able bodied Kazakh males had to join the fight, and they were rounded up and marched overland to Russia. The wolves and wind at the beginning and the rain sounds using the rain stick at the end were for atmosphere. The singer is worried about the survival of his aging parents, with nobody left to tend the farm, or take care of them.

Greetings from Bashkortostan! Thank you for being so considerate . In" Samaltau " Dimash sings a tragic song about a young man being forced to leave his elderly parents and homeland and go to war. A folk song in the classic Kazakh manner. In this position, folk singers usually sing, sitting around a fire in the steppe. Kazakh folk instruments are hung on the walls. I think he wanted to introduce the audience to the culture of the Kazakh people. And Dimash chose this song not without black humor. The guy on whose behalf the song is sung was mobilized for the war with Japan in 1916 and marches on foot with others. That is why we hear the sounds of the wind on the steppe, the howling of the wolf, the barking of dogs, the cries of cranes, and running water.

Divine is right. I was getting goosebumps every 10 seconds. The whole production is amazing!, and it’s the first time I have ever seen you completely jaw dropped. I agree when he sings in Kazakh his connection to the music is rock solid. He doesn’t have to think. He just lives ‘in’ the music. That was a very beautiful piece of art you and he created. Thank you. I loved it 🥰🥰🙏🏻

"Samal Tau" It is a traditional Kazakh song that talks about a soldier, who is forced to leave his home, to march to an unknown land and fight in a foreign war, known as "The Great War" or "First World War" . Between the agony of that instrument that is listened to, which hits the exact tear of one who is going to fight a war and separates himself from his affections and where only desolation and death await him. Our beloved Prince with that genuine feeling, turns a song of so much pain into a story that claims the life of every soldier who perished. Brilliant Dimash, you are not only an excellent singer and great performer, but you are also a great storyteller of your ancestors. It is a blessing to know that there is a possibly unique BEING, who has the gift of transmitting the word in all its range, doing it with the passion that you do. I can't stop thanking you and I ask God for the opportunity at some point in my life to feel your vibrant voice close to me. greetings from Argentina

Oh come on...Get your facts straight. The Russian army in World War One did not recruit any other nationals except Russians to war. But on the other hand there were some auxiliary national regiments but mostly from Caucasus region. The Russian Imperial government would not trust any kyrgyz to carry weapons anyway. And by the way, there was no Qazaqstan as a country at all but some northern and southern kyrgyz tribes roaming the steppes of Southern Russia.

@inveritusrusikus9013
@inveritusrusikus9013 4 года назад

He was invited to perform at this years Tokyo Jazz Festival but due to the pandemic it was first cancelled (and he was very disappointed) then it was done as an online concert. So he took part by performing 2 songs, Samaltau and S.O.S which he live streamed from his home in Astana Kazakhstan, this is his music room/studio in his house. The instruments are a Kobyz, the stringed instrument a bit like a viola, it has two strings of horse hair and has a 5,000 year history, its played here emulating the sounds of the Kazakh steppe, the wolves and other wild animals. The flute is called a Sybyzgy and is emulating the Kazach Golden Eagle and other birds, the rainstick (bamboo filled with gravel or rice) is emulating the wind in the grass of the steppe, plus the water running off from the Samal mountain. The instruments on the wall are Dimash's collection of various Dombra, plus a drum and a jetigen, a Kazakh zither. I absolutely love this song, I first heard it at the Silk Road Film Festival last year and it stunned me. Here he is performing this powerful song sitting cross legged on a piano stool, he always makes it look so easy when in reality this is a difficult song to sing this well. Bravo Dimash 🌺🌹🌺🌹🌺 Here is the full story of what this terribly sad song is about. Dimash sings from the perspective of a 28 year old soldier who is thinking of his aging parents, his home country and the sacred mountain Samal Tau www.iias.asia/the-newsletter/article/time-ordeal-story-1916-revolt-central-asia This was performed on his 26th birthday (May 24th) this year and after it was finished he spent the rest of the afternoon with us Dears in a livestream Q&A on Instagram, then he spent the evening until 10pm with us again on RU-vid. It was such a great and entertaining day with our beloved Dimash. I hope he does it again soon. ❤💛💜💛❤

@@FluffysMum Anglo-Saxon language is not my mother tongue so I have mistakes, sorry for that.🌼 The term “shaman” originates in Siberia. It describes a person who possesses the ability to perform soul journeys. Thereby he or she serves as a mediator between the tribe and the spirit world. In the animistic society everything was considered having life and embody a soul. A general trait which can be detected in native societies throughout the world is the concept of and alter reality divided into three worlds: The Lowerworld, where the shaman sought power, power objects, and power animals. The Middleworld which was where humans lived perceived through a shamanic state of mind. The Upperworld where the shaman could seek wisdom and visions concerning past, presence, and future. Thereby she or he serves as a mediator between the human and the spirit world. Wise people are called "Baksı" or "Kam" in old Turkic culture. They worship "Tengri" (means "God"). They are the good ones. However, all shamans are not belong "good side"... Dark shamans invoke the evil spirits. Sometimes, although rare, weak or inexperienced shamans cannot keep the evils under control. Dark spirits can be haunted in shaman stuffs. Who knows?👀Because of these reasons, I do not prefer shaman drums, African masks, ancient Egypt ankhs or this kind of strange sacred objects in my house. An epitome : blog.newcropshop.com/inspiration-siberian-shaman-drums/

@@lilatomrissoze6237 wow thats very thorough, I can see why it could be a concern, snd understand completely why you are unhappy to have one in your home. So is this one hanging on our dear Dimash's a shaman drum? It might be a type if shaman drum as Kazakhstan was once part of the mongol empire but I don’t have enough knowledge of the folk instruments so I don't know. SamalTau is about the Kazakh men who were conscripted (taken by force) to fight in Russian wars, most of them never to see their homes again. The words come from a letter, written by one of these men, but then dropped along the way and found later by some traveler. Yes, it's about soldiers slogging through mud and suffering, longing for their homes and families, knowing that whatever life they had ahead of them would be dismal and pointless, grieving for what they had left behind. They had been taken from a region called "SamalTau" (breezy mountains.) Some people, hearing this performance, feel some emotional pull, as if those men are crying out across the years and the miles. I think it's coming through Dimash, for I'm certain that he's experiencing their anguish.

The story of one of these young people, who desperately marches into a war that is not his, besides the sadness of leaving his parents, elders, with no one to take care of and the certainty that he will never see the mountains (“tau”) of Kazakhstan again generated this wonderfully sad song! In addition to Dimash's talent, we have a wonderful ambience and two fantastic musicians: Olzhas - Master in playing Qobyz (Kobyz, who looks like a violin), the other who plays “Pau de Chuva”! A supernatural journey to the plains of Kazakhstan, through Music!

It is a traditional Kazakh song, written over a hundred years ago, from the perspective of a young Kazakh man who has been called to war by Russia, and the instruments are supposed to reflect the sounds of nature as he marches away from his home, devastated that he has to leave his elderly parents

He always pulls the deepest longing, and grief from our souls. This evokes the most profound emotions. It sings of the stepps, the animals, the sky, one's homeland. It is inescapable sorrow. A past that has fled.

Dimash has a duet with Tengri, using Mongolian throat singers who play native instruments. It’s great. His Daididau showcases Dimash playing dhombra and singing another Kazakhstan story. It’s a song about a young man being pressed into service and his long trek away from Kazakhstan.

And one day in the Caucusus Mountain Picks a big iced structure melted down. Out of itvtwo Danisovan creatures from oposite sides of the pick started houling to each other with joy and preglacial soynds never heard by the shepperds, their ovine flocks and the wild pick's goats. To identify them the shepperds decided to call them Diana and Dimash. So now we are the lucky eartlings to hear their preglacial voices and sounds that very few of us have ever heard before. Climate worming? Lol
