This will always be my favorite song by Dimash. Of course, I love everything he sings but you know the saying, you never forget your first love. This is the song that made me fall in love with Dimashs' voice. It is the purest and most heartfelt out of all the other renditions of it. After this, my favorites are Unforgettable Day, also from the Singer along with, All By Myself. This song came from the French rock opera, Starmania.
I only "discovered" Dimash this week after being led here from a reaction to Marcelito Pomoy, who is also terrific. If you have not listened to Marcelito singing The Prayer on the Wish 107.5 bus, let me recommend that you do so. However, congratulations on a wonderful reaction to Dimash who is truly an educated, trained from and early age, and working on his doctorate, speaking many languages when he sings, and sings one note higher than a piano. His octave range was once 4-5 octaves, but now it is 5-6 octaves with whistle sounds and 5 semitones. I have become an overnight fan, listened to several of his interviews, and have come to understand how fully committed he is to Allah, his parents, and his country. One thing he said was he really loves children and would like to get married when he is near children. That feeling diminishes the further away he get from children. He really is a talented, technically taught in both opera and contemporary singing phenomenon, that made me find Uma Sumak the Peruvian many octave singer. Dimash has her beat.
I can't even begin to tell you how much of a superfan I am. Dimash is a 26 year, 191cm (6'3") tall, old singer/songerwriter/multi instrumentalist from Kazakhstan. Located close to China & Russia. He speaks in 3 languages, sings in more than 12, and plays many instruments from piano to dombra. He has a masters degree in music composition and holds a degree for contemporary & opera performance. He's been singing since the age of 5. His parents are both musicians. His dad is a lyricist and his mom sings opera. He also is a very active young man and plays many sports. He has been known to enjoy swimming and has learned some of his breathing techniques from that. He rose to popularity because of the performance that you saw. Unfortunately you can't see how many views he has but that performance has over 1 billion views on various video platforms in China. He was the only non-Chinese competitor on the show and was put in as a wildcard even through the show had professional artists. His life basically changed overnight. Dimash also has a 6 octave range, getting closer to 7 now a days. Honestly the range isn't really what sets him apart as the world's best vocalist in my opinion. He's extremely versatile. He sings songs in all different genres/styles, sings with so much passion, and has unbelievable stage presence. Dimash calls his fans Dears because they are dear to his heart and if you continue this Dimash journey, I'm positive you will become one too :). His personality is infectious... watching outside interviews really shows you that is truly a one of a kind man by being humble. Truly a rare sight to see. As far as to what to listen to next, he sings pretty much all genres. He incorporates many different styles (mostly classical) into different songs or covers. A lot of super-fans would suggest you watch the "evolution" of him from all his performances on The Singer series in China in 2017. I don't care about that personally so I would suggest something more modern for you like "Across Endless Dimensions". Many people find the REAL world-class talents and lament about why they don't know about them. A TON of talent coming from the East right now. Dimash, Diana Ankunidova, Sohyang, Vika Starikova, Morissette Amon, Daneliya Tuleshova (is from Kazakhstan also) and kpop and Japanese metal are all excellent products right now in 2020. We don't hear of them because our Western press is broken and serves their Corporate masters. Thanks to platforms like youtube we can find talent all over the world now without relying on their corporate demographically based music molds.

Great Reaction! This was the first performance of the first night of the Chinese competition show - The Singer - in 2017. Generally only accomplished Chinese singers would perform. But Dimash had won several contests in Kazakhstan, and was invited to compete as a wild card. No one had any idea who he was, and as it was his first performance, the audience was advised in advance by the producers to applaud and give him a warm welcome to the stage. By the end of the song, they were applauding and cheering for real. He took first place for that night's competition. The next day, he had 600 million hits on Weibo (China’s Instagram)... and the rest, as they say, is history.

This song is from a 1980's French rock opera called Starmania. The song is very much an anthem for the French. Listen to the late Daniel Ballavoine's original version if you can. Beautiful in a totally different way. Dimash reaches way into that universe depicted in this rock opera. It always thrills me to watch people's first reaction to him. I was introduced to Dimash music only 2 weeks ago but I am now totally obsessed with his talent, humor, honor and humility. Every song he sings has a deeper meaning for him.
