It’s too bad you didn’t know the song before. This song was Freddie’s goodbye he was so ill Bryan May didn’t know if he could even do it. Freddie took a shot of vodka and then recorded it in one take. This song is very emotional for a Queen fan. Dimash puts his own take on it and I think made Freddie proud. I love when Dimash covers a song makes it his own. Also Dimash didn’t speak any English at this time and learned it in a week.

Love Dimash’s performance of Freddie’s song. I go back to this performance and all his 13 (+ Hello ) performances on the Singer in 2017 competition many times. I can never get enough of Dimash. I watch everything on his channel over and over again. Phenomenal singer, artist, composer, songwriter, producer, director, and human being. Love his outfit with the bit of eyeliner. He looked very cool and handsome. I always loved Queen. RIP Freddie Mercury. Dimash is paying tribute to him by choosing to do his song.

I think this was the last song done BY Freddie Mercury when we was really really sick. There is something really poignant about Freddie's version because in many ways it is his farewell and Swan song. Dimash was pretty brave to tackle this as a tribute, and I think he did a good job. 🥰👍

I had never heard the song either until it was used in the Moulin Rouge remake with Nicole Kidman and Ewan MacGregor. It was then that I became familiar with the Freddy Mercury version. But being such a huge Dimash fan I am now partial to this one.

Yes, you REALLY, REALLY, REALLY should have listened to Queen FIRST!! This is an amazing version, sure enough, but to truly appreciate the little changes and flourishes that Dimash does…you needed to hear the original first.

For those who love Dimash, another must see singer is Zhao Shen from China. Because of his small stature, feminine disposition and voice, he was often bullied in school. Never thinking that he had what it takes to be a singer, he went tot he Ukraine to become a dentist. While there, he was convinced that he did have a great singing ability, thus transferred his major to music. Thank goodness he did. As an introduction into Zhao "Charlie" Shen, begin with his premiere performance on the Voice of China singing HuanYan. After this first video, move on to his versions of "Memory", and "Time to Say Goodbye". For something different from him, watch his version of "Let It Go" and "Monsters". Last, but definitely not least (there is so much more from him), enjoy the videos, "This is Me" and a very unique and fun song (one of my favs) "Da La Beng Ba". Listen to the original, it’s better. It’s more natural and the story behind is this song was his last. He knew he was dying of AIDS and he was so weak during the recording though he smashed it and it’s incredible. This song is so full of hope. He was dying and he did it. So better go to Freddy now 😉
