You are totally right, Dimash wants to unite people. He does a pretty good job doing so. I want to tell you from my own experience. This year I was at his concert in Budapest Hungary. Dears from various countries were at the same hotel I was. It felt like meeting friends and not strangers. I had great conversations with Dears from the U.S., Italy, Poland, England, Romania… we were all united in our love for Dimash. On top of that I had a conversation with a lady from England, she wasn’t a dear, she was a visitor of Budapest and accidentally in the same hotel. She was waiting for her shuttle service to the airport. She was introduced to Dimash by Dears the evening before and so of course we talked about Dimash. Not only about his voice but about his character too and also the Dears. She was amazed and she pointed out that she is deeply impressed by the unity of the fandom even though they are from all over the world and that all Dears are so lovely, loving and caring people. Dimash concerts are an experience but also to meet other Dears is an experience. These days many people quarrel with each other, aren’t tolerant towards others, are selfish… but meeting Dears gives me hope that humanity isn’t lost. Stay safe dear Paul!

This is the original complete version of Dimash's A Thousand Miles A Common Dream. First and best in my opinion because it is not cut short and Dimash put his heart and soul into this premiere of this song. Stunning performance. Since then he has sung it in duets and solo in various festivals and special concerts but shortened versions due to time constraints.

Thank you for your sincere appreciatiion of Dimash's attempts to learn songs in different lanaguages. I believe his deepest desire is to unite all nations, all peoples, through music. When he did his concert in New York he spoke mostly in English, but he sang in Kazakh, Russian, Italian, Mandarin and French. He made sure during Battle of Memories to ask only the Chinese Dears to sing at one point to make sure they were shown love and appreciation. People came from all over the world. He is so unique.

What a joy to see Dimash sharing with Chinese people his respect for elders and tradition. Tradition is what I like most in China, but unfortunately it is often forgotten by singers. Zhou Shen, sometimes, pays homage to it, in his funny style (see "Four great masterpieces"), but only a few singers like Huo Zun, Li Yu Gang or Fei Yu Qing are really dedicated to it (remember the duet Di Ma Shi and Li Yu Gang on Diva dance). Speaking of languages, all opera-trained singers learn to sing in several languages. That doesn't mean that they know how to speak, but after a few hours or days of hard rehearsal, they manage to extract comprehensible lyrics from what was until then just shapeless mush. 7 years ago Dimash admitted to being bad at languages. He has improved a lot since then. The best Asian singer in this field is probably Mingyu Cho, Forestella's leader (see his "Speechless in 8 languages"). Zhou Shen too is not bad at all (see his "Let it go in 9 languages"). That said, you're right about Dimash's love for his fans and cultures around the world. It is a characteristic trait of his personality. He is truly empathetic and open, probably in part due to his love for Abai, the great Kazakh philosopher, moralist and poet who opened Kazakhstan to world literature and philosophy, and whose precepts Dimash has followed since childhood. Behind every great man there is a great man.

It was just wonderful as is your appreciation of Dimash. I am so glad that you are going so in depth into his songs in different languages. So many reactors don”t go beyond the high spots like Olympico and ignore all his other beautiful masterpieces, especially the Chinese ones. From what I have read he has a deep understanding and appreciation of the folk music of different cultures and this is what he wrote about in his masters thesis. Since you were impressed with his Armenian song, wait till you hear the Turkish one he sang as a duet with a Turkish star, Haluk Levent in Istanbul a few weeks ago. . It is so foreign to our ears but absolutely incredible. Toward the end Haluk turns to the audience and says in Turkish, “What kind of voice is this?”

Thank you for this reaction, it is my favorite version of that song. It doesn't matter how many times you hear the same song, every time Dimash sings a little differently or the arrangement is different and so are the instruments. He surprises again and again, either with new songs or with different versions of the same song. Sometimes he even unexpectedly improvises at concerts. He is a great master at that.

Mi domando che canzone potrebbe cantare agli italiani in Italia, sempre che si avveri una sua visita nel Belpaese (di sicuro nel '24 ci ho messo una pietra sopra).
