It was his very first performance on a show where his competitors were all known, accomplished singers while he was a total nobody - no one had ever heard of him. and not to forget a total foreign country/culture where he didn't speak or understood the language.... Dimash is totally dedicated! He practices singing 3 hours daily. He also swims daily to improve (!!!) his breath control. He avoids iced drinks and hot drinks for the sake of his voice. He gave up taekwando after receiving a red belt (as a young teen) because he was told his neck/vocal chords could be injured. He plays 7 instruments. Is studying Mandarin Chinese and English (he’s becoming more fluent in English.)

This song was written for "Starmania" is a Canadian- cyberpunk written in 1976. Just remember that with closed captions, the words in English don't always translate well with the original language. That being said, I personally like this performance better.

Because he didn’t show everything he could do on the weeks of the singer vocal coaches and other think that he had just a 6 octave range. Singer was in 2017.Gakku concert where he hit a D8 one note off the top of the keyboard and he also hit several notes at the bottom of the keyboard while singing the drunken concubine and the diva dance with LiGang in China. Of course his vocal coach spends 3 hours a day with him and Dimash does it whether he’s there or not. But a person cannot increase their vocal range an octave within in a few months or a year. Because they didn’t hear vocal fry it was thought that he had no base justbaritone.but in 2017 Dimash did many concerts shows and movie soundtracks that showed at least 7 octaves and maybe several notes on up. Of course he’s improving. This sos is 2018. In 2021 at the Biden inauguration he did it even better. And I just heard him yesterday do sos as a quartet with one girl and two guys that was just as beautiful as this one is.a man who has a natural ear for music and the ability to write musical pieces can change anything he imagines into a masterpiece with dimashs talent. He only 27. Will he have 8 or 9 octaves at 30? Who knows.don’t be fooled by what Wikipedia and the female vocal coaches say because they don’t want the fact that women sing with a wider vocal range than men turn from a fact into a theory. Dimash has turned the music industry by doing live shows with much variety from song to song. He can’t be compared with anyone including Mariah Carey or Barbara stiesand who both had 6 octave ranges. Arianna grandes soprano hurts your ears when she sings high. Her career came through Disney like Miley Cyrus whose voice is practically ruined and a vocal disorder that only happens to singers older than 60. Disney abused Miley from age 12 on and she did help any with her smoking and alcohol. Dimash thinks he’s still a student. He’s in his doctorate.

You might like to compare how Dimash sings the song “Daybreak” on The Singer, with how he sings it even better on the Bastau version. On the Singer, he had illness, nerves and pressure to do the song justice as he admired the original singer and songwriter. He sung well and you don’t realise he could sing so much better til you hear the Bastau version. Both versions have english subtitles. But maybe do “Opera 2” from the Singer next, since that was his next song - and it is fantastic!

He's a lot more focused and confident in this performance compared to the last one you reacted to. Notice how he's not shaking his head or straining. His movements both vocally and bodily are really fluid. Also the sound system and engineering is a lot better. .
