He has been training in voice (yes, opera) and piano since he was five years old. He calls his genre "neoclassical". He just graduated with a degree in music from his school in Kazakhstan - his studies were slowed down by concerts and other events after his enormous success in Singer 2017 (which, by the way, he did not win). He travels with at least one vocal coach and studies hard to achieve his dreams. He is very proud of his homeland, Kazakhstan - as they are of him - he was named a "National Treasure" there. They have a saying, "Welcome to Kazakhstan" which means (approximately) "Hello, friend, my home is your home" - so I say, Welcome to Dimashstan :D DKIFC/USA

This was actually the first performance for the China competition's new season of The Singer 2017 [which was why the crowd was excited for it to start at the beginning] -- but what is often overlooked is that he was pretty much a complete unknown to that audience [he's from Kazakhstan and didn't speak any Chinese at that time], and he was the least expected or anticipated to do much since he was pretty much unknown to the audience [which is why he was placed to go first -- the most anticipated singers were set to perform last on that episode]. This was the first time the China audience and other performers in the back room on the show heard him sing. Between his first performance ["S.O.S." in French] and his 2nd performance [Vita's "Opera 2" in Russian], he quickly won their hearts completely. Great reaction! I subscribed hoping you will do more Dimash, SOS was 1st episode yet all of his performances are mind-blowing. He sings in several languages he has a 6 octave range. Trained in classical music since age of 5yrs but he prefers rock & pop music merging into a new genre called Pop-era. He was 22yrs when he performed here, now 24.

He was apparently offered an opera position and declined because he wanted to pursue another genre of music, which can be seen in his latest songs e.g. Hello by Lionel Ritchie, and Screaming, which was composed for Dimash. Dimash is...if not the best male solo singer. He takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride everytime he sings. Please continue the Dimash journey and also react to his first "official music video" called Screaming it is wonderful. Thank you so much.🌹

Dimash did have Opera training but chose to go a different route. He is eventually going for a classical pop type of music and written several songs of his own. One of them on the singer. You really should watch the series of Singer 2017. He does such a variety in different languages including English which he is now learning along with Mandarin. Except for Kazakh, Russian and one other language, which he speaks fluently, Dimash usually memorizes one song in another language for the country he is singing in so they hear a song in their language. You will hear the languages above including Italian etc. but none of it will really matter. He puts his heart and soul into his songs and you do not need to understand them to appreciate. He surprises you with something new in each and every song. Please enjoy and we hope to see a run of reactions. Opera 2 is next. Noteworthy songs are one from his own country, Daididau and Adagio. For an absolute pure ending soprano note Autumn Song is just beautiful.
