probably because the first few auctions went so well. The Stephen Sondheim mini sold for like 4K USD or something! There are some rich theater kids who are Dropout subscribers.

It makes sense, of all the seasons of D20 this is the one that’s probably least likely to get a sequel, if it did it would be new characters. With the season having just finished as well the stuffs really relevant to fans who will be wanting to get them

​@@HLGamez they've also said that they budget for new minis for seasons regardless, so auctions aren't necessarily an indicator of if something will get a sequel or not (Also, yeah, I don't think this will get a sequel, just thought it worth noting)

@@mordsythe there never fails to be someone out there appearing to be wrapped up in legit shadenfreude over their perception that "their show" is better, and looking for some excuse to shoehorn a backhanded insult they'll swear Is well intentioned. Seriously, if even being aware of or keeping track of "how many are tuning out for X reason" for an AP show online is even on your radar, you might do well to dial down the degree to which you're over identifying with a fictional show.

I think this is just to subsidize the Dimension 20 mini's before the auctions they never had Maxi's like this, the production quality has definitely increased and I think the auctions are a way to fund that.

I think the auctions are a new idea, so why not capitalize on having the season be fresh in people's minds!

The last auction was successful and they're probably not coming back to the Neverafter setting, it makes sense for them to capitalize on the minis now that the season is over. This is just a means of helping the production of the next seasons of Dimension 20.

On top of what the others have said, the only thing the minis would be doing after the season would be staying in storage anyway, so why not do it now while excitement is at its peak rather than keep them in boxes for two years before doing it
