it makes me sad that we’ll never be able to truly experience these prehistoric animals in person, but I guess that’s part of what makes them so interesting and special
@@ExpiredCrayfish You can't just make sounds like these out of thin air, you have to use and modify pre-existing sounds in order to produce these. The person doing this is taking sounds that would be similar to the sounds these animals would have produced, and is modifying them to make them more accurate given the body of the animal. It's largely speculative, but it's as close as we can reasonably get given our current knowledge.
What would be great is a collection of your dinosaur vocalizations grouped into time periods and ecologies with the sounds of streams and wind passing through comparable plant life.
I already have a series on that in the same playlist as these. Check my channel, or follow these links: Part I: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9pX12JS2414.html Part II: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U-abpL9aZHA.html
Yeah. A Theri with such sounds would have certainly disturbed the neighbors' dogs if theoretically you managed to bring one into the suburbs and let it roam around.
Therizinosaurus sounds like those freaky sky noises that pop up on unexplained noises videos. Also, the Giganosaurus set off something in my Monkey Brain that made me want to run away. Great job!
I think the Dienochierus would be extremely creepy to hear at night or from afar. Almost resembles a human wailing or calling for help, in a way. Anyways amazing work! I absolutely LOVE this series.
See, these sounds (together with the hunting capabilities) are why I, as a mammal, would also prefer to hide away in my burrow until these guys are fast asleep as well, thank you very much^^ Also, can you imagine the disappointment quickly followed by absolute terror when hearing the sound that Giganotosaurus presumably made and at first mistaking it for an approaching helicopter/airplane coming to save you only to come face to face with that absolute unit of a terrible lizard/murder bird?
Gorgosaurus sounds like a dragon! And please make more I would love to hear Achilobator, Suchomimus, Tarbosaurus, Acrocanthosaurus, and Torvosaurus just to name a few!
I found Gorgosaurus quite interesting, since it sounds not too far off from a dinosaur roar you'd hear in something like Jurassic Park. Either way, it sounds terrifying. Lovely work 🦖
I love sitting my partner down with me to listen to these studies all the time, because they always give the the biggest look of "you are very, very strange, but I will enjoy this for you"
Interesting to hear how you recreated the Gorgosaurus, compared to how you recreated Tyrannosaurus and Dryptosaurus. Is this due to the new studies published on the larynx found from the Pinacosaurus? Or is it due to some other find? And are you going to go back and recreate such noises from said Tyrannosaurs in the future? One last note, absolutely loved the video. Keep it up!
I think he might have created it like that due to the decreased size of Gorgo, mixed with the fact that the Larynx was discovered. T-rex probably won't be recreated cause I think he creates these sounds from the perspective of a human. Chances are the sounds a Tyrannosaurus rex were so deep and loud that we wouldn't be able to hear it and would instead feel it. Im not the poster so I'm just speculating lmao.
I deliberately don't use similar samples or methods twice even if it's another theropod in order to give alternate possibilities a chance. That way if I'm off on one, I'm not necessarily off on another. The sounds here for Gorgosaurus were one of the first I methods used and can be heard in my original Trex Resound before I redid that and did a whole series.
@@StudioMod That makes sense now that I think about it, considering how mainstream these kinds of videos are becoming. Thanks for replying, and once again keep up the great work ♥️
@@StudioMod aha, no worries bruv. Your work is truly exceptional! But seriously, as soon as Gorgosaurus started making noise, I jumped out of my seat. That was terrifying!
I love this series so much! All of the dinosaur sounds are so fantastic, and unique from other interpretations out there. Would you ever consider doing a video on your process/how you research and decide what each dinosaur might sound like?
I did a video once about how I consider my Tyrannosaurus vocalizations, but I suppose one day I could put something like that together. The truth is, the less people who know, the better it is for me financially lol. I beat around the bush with people as much as I can to avoid letting people understand how to do it themselves. And while it's not easy, there are definitely more talented audio engineers out there. I'd be out of a good thing if I told everyone how I do this stuff. I will say though that my methods are based entirely on paleontologist Julia Clarke's methods and I managed to get information directly as to how she went about this process. So I'm also not comfortable outright sharing what was provided to me in confidence.
Have you considered collecting royalties for letting studios use these noises for prehistoric documentaries? I’d love to hear these sounds in the next season of Prehistoric Planet. Also, Gorgosaurus gives me flashbacks to getting clapped by Phantoms in my first Minecraft world.
The sounds that Gorgosaurus libratus makes sound more like industrial noises to me, like a creature in some kind of engine factory, because the exhalations and puffs it makes, rather than a theropod. With this I am not saying that it is wrong, let's take into account that birds like the Shoebill can make sounds like guns.
It may be best to place a disclaimer at the start of these videos or in the description stating that hardly any true evidence exists on the vocalizations for prehistoric animals. I understand that these videos are fun and some of the sounds do capture both the alien and familiar nature of dinosaurs, but little to no evidence exists on what any of them sounded like or if their sounds would have been audible at all.
0:24 the sounds reminded me of the same ones my dog makes when he is bored or outraged when I don't let him bark to the cats, Incredible work, I love that dinosaurs have communication similarities with animals that we know today
The Therizinosaurus made me sit back in awe, as if I were actually back there in time witnessing this creature in the flesh. It was so beautiful, yet eerie. Sent a shiver down my spine.
Very interesting selection of dinosaurs, certainly most of these activated my fight or flight response or made me just stare blankly in awe, sometimes both. ¡Excellent productions! One question though ¿what program you use to create these?
Honestly I love your work with every dinosaur we've heard so far. These are by far one of my favorite things to listen to now. Also this is probably wishful thinking, but is there any hope for hearing any Triassic animals?
I think it's time to switch your channel into a dinosaur channel. 😂😂 We need video games and movies to adopt these beautiful yet horrifying sounds. I looked at animal sounds on earth today, like ostrich and they also have terrible and scary sounds. The unknown sounds are most scary.
I love these videos! I’m always looking forward to another one. Those Giganotosaurus sounds were amazing, and the Kronosaurus sounds were creepy (in a good way)!
dude i have pet rats and have them all out for playtime rn and the second the sound started all 6 of them stood on their hind feet in alert mode in complete sync and when i got their attention they all ran to me for comfort. i know it's just a "this is a weird sound we have not heard before, and since we are prey animals we must be on high alert", but i think it's funnier to imagine that these sounds are just so accurate that it unlocked some sort of evolutionary fear that's been deeply ingrained for over a hundred million years and made 6 random domesticated rats briefly think they were back in the Cretaceous or some shit
0:24 It reminds me of some pigs at our school camp! 1:04 Why does this thing sound like a raptor. 1:50 In my opinion, it’s actually very relaxing to listen to, just not with an agitated herd. 2:39 Very relevant for the sounds of an 11 metre long humpback goose. 3:31 That is very chilling… 4:30 Ah yes, my favourite dinosaur. Sounds very relevant. 5:11 The most chilling out of all of them, despite sounding like a demonic dolphin pod.
Will you make any videos of sounds of what a herd would sound like? Overlapping sounds and stomping etc. would be fun to hear what it would sound like instead of a “lone” Dino calling out. Although I love these videos
Such a shame i will never see or hear these things in my life. Maybe genetic analyses and genetic engineering will allow us to reconstruct dinosaurs from modern bird dna, but that would be exceedingly difficult no doubt if not impossible.
