the commentaries about Yves Saint Laurent are pretty ridiculous .... so dated....time proved it wrong ..... nowadays nobody wears a Chanel jacket or new look Dior....but they all wear the YSL staples ...all you see now are tuxedo or YSL' s women's pan suit on ....YSL is style that's why it last ....not fashion...
I totally agree! Dior represented a certain era of fashion that can never be fully reimagined; the same with Chanel. Those women don't exist anymore. The conditions that bore those type of women don't exist anymore. What YSL was able to do was design clothes that could be embraced by multiple generations of women living under different circumstances. That was the genius of Le Smoking! It never became obsolete!
I dont think so! Chanel has a timeless vibe to it. Women still wear skirt suits everywhere. Plus Chanel's tweed fabrics are still coveted by several designer today. Dior however, is going downhill with Maria Grazia Churi
@@drstranger7430 the tacky ones do wear the Chanel, it's for nouveaux riches especialy Asians , the golf people without taste buy chanel for the name, last ten years people were going for the sets in Paris not the tired collections lol...and Chanel is for some lost USA girls and the old sac at vogue Anna... ....just look at TV anchors no one would be caught wearing a chanel jacket lol....and the raccoon at Dior ....well hopefully she'll get sacked and found a hole in Italy ...
The YSL model at 3:14 is Clotilde (Kristin Clotilde Holby). She was the face of Ralph Lauren. She was also in the 1983 movie "Trading Places." I really like the hats in these two collections.
How interesting, some people only know big brands but did not know the history, ysl and dior and many big name house we know now, they were bestfriend and worked together 🙂😌
