In my latest shop project you can see me make a mobile anvil stand with retractable wheels.
WHEN THE ANVIL IS BEING USED, THE WHEELS ARE NOT IN CONTACT WITH THE FLOOR AT ALL.
…but there will be some moron that will just not understand this.. and comment on the "axle stress" and we will all laugh at how stupid this person is.
I encourage all you RU-vidrs and Blacksmiths out there to make your own version of this mobile anvil stand, it’s a great project build, and it’s incredibly useful in the shop.

@@MJ-nb1qn Both are brilliant at what they do, and trying to compare them is like comparing a carpenter to a welder. Two completely different fields with completely different skill sets and constraints that aren't validly comparable or transferable between them beyond menial aspects like cutting stock material to size. So how about until Alec builds an art piece show table or Diresta makes a damascus claymore, we try not to play petty, idiotic "my youtube daddy can beat up your youtube daddy" type games?

@Right Round are you high or something? "the craftsmanship isn't there" is the silliest critique i've ever heard. Clearly you haven't seen Jimmy's videos, or your'e just being willfully ignorant. Jimmy makes things BOTH for videos and for a purpose, sometimes just one of those. Because of that, sure sometimes they aren't made in the same way as you would typically see, but most of the time they're completely unique, and you have nothing to compare them to. And in any case, they WORK. And it's safe to say that if something works in Jimmy's life/line of work, then it's pretty well built/designed. Generalizing "Makers" as people who use super glue is pretty sad to see, and saying that a person cannot be considered a craftsman by making pointless things is not only an elitist statement that NOBODY agrees with, but it's also ironic, because your entire argument is pointless..and i doubt you've ever made anything in your life besides stupid baseless arguments like this. Hoisted by your own petard! Now, please go away, because you don't deserve to watch these videos. Even if you don't, i'm sure you'll be blocked ;)

Hey jimmy, I have been a subscriber since 2011, I remember the first video I ever saw of yours, I was 11 years old and I would watch your videos all the time throughout the years. A lot of your creations have inspired me to make a multitude of different things (at least try, I can only do so much at the age of 14). You definitely shaped my childhood in a way I never thought possible and I would like you to know that it’s not just amazing things you create. You also inspire people to do the things you do. So thank you for all the inspiration and information you have taught me over the years. Your work does not go unnoticed. Thank you.

Aesthetically fabulous. I love the look of that beast. I would never have attempted those retractable wheels, it just seams too complex. But after watching this I realize that it's not that complicated - very doable. Nice work. I don't have an anvil to put on it yet... build it and they will come.

Yadda yadda. Thanks for sharing :)

I think (from watching) you could deploy the wheels by stepping on that bar and then release it with the toe of your boot. Fantastic work by the way. I've been looking for a tree cutoff to bang on when I hammer stuff doing woodworking. I think I might make this instead and also use it to sit on (minus the welding).

Love it. Always looking for ideas how to lift heavy things up on casters. The only thing I would probably chance in this build is that maybe the angle irons should have been sunken in the wood so that the wooden part was in contact with the ground and the anvil itself... But I'm no anvil expert pro, so no idea how important that really is. People just seem to prefer the dampening of wood. Same in hammer handles. wood is better than steel?
