apson1 As a german it's hard to argue against it, but I'll take the 03-04 Pistons. Against all Odds. Everybody thought they get swept and they nearly swept the Lakers.
Fabolous NineNine Lol is English not your first language? He means the last decade as in the last ten years since today. 2011 was within the last decade.
Fresh C I'm sorry but "this decade" sounded like 2010-2020 for me. Doesn't matter. That 03-04' Pistons run is still one of the most satisfying championship runs ever.
I got so much respect for Dirk. Swept the back to back Lakers, beat OKC in 5 and Miami in 6, didn’t need a super team they won on the defensive end and dirk stepping up offensively, well deserved champion.
@@dechefmane3526 don't sit up here and act like Tyson Chandler was THAT dude. He played good defense during the playoff run, but don't sit up here and act like he was a top center in the nba.
@@TheIcemanthomas bruh, they were role players!!! And u can't sit up here and tell me that u woulda picked an old Jason Kidd over a young point guard in their prime at the time.
@Drink Me Not at all. Just pointing out how Dirk did it with the least amount of help.....arguably. Dirk won his championship with a bunch of role players and Jason Kidd (an old ass Jason Kidd at that).
@@matthewteng8154 He didn't have help in 2007, 2015, and 2018. There was no excuse for losing in 2011. Wade and LeBron are my two favorite players ever but LeBron played like garbage on 2011 and Wade was awful in 2014. I can admit that. I can also admit that making fun of Dirk being sick was childish.
I'm a life-long Heat fan but you can't deny Dirk's greatness. His 2011 Finals performance was nothing short of legendary! He just flat out wanted it more than Miami's Big 3!
And the LAME ass excuses umm he threw the Finals, he was mentally fragile at that time. Or he didn't know how to win yet...Blah,blah,blah he choked simple as that.
Watching Nowitzki play with so much fucking heart and triumph over a team just stacked with an absurd amount of talent was one of greatest moments in all sports history.
Dwade,Bosh,Lebron + stacked 3 point shooting bench isn't enough help? Jordan played against hall of famers in all of his finals and still won! Btw Jordan played against shaq in the playoffs. Is he a plumber? 😂
@@lavarjordan278 Nigga who cares about a 1st round if that's Case let's see how many times Lebron got swept. At at end of the Mj still 6/6 and LeBron 3 and what 9
Sebastian Martinez he failed to mention that lebron didn’t make the playoffs until his third year. And Jordan was facing teams like the bad boys and the Celtics, the hawks, the knicks , the sixers, hornets the east was loaded nothing but 50 plus wins. While lebron has have super teams since 2010 playing against bums like Roy hibbert, Kyle Lowry and 19, 20 year old kids. Jordan’s level of competition was far superior then todays
that last move by Dirk to seal the win will forever be a legendary finals moment like Magics hook from the free throw line to win the game. Just legendary greatness by Dirk to will his team to a championship.
If could of would of should of. Dont act like Lebron didnt have 2 super teams and still get swept and beaten repeatedly. Everybody has eaten off of Lebron.
As much as Lebron's legacy suffered from that series I'm still very happy that Drik won that championship, he definetly deserved it and his playoff run that year is the best I've seen a basketball play over 4 rounds.
Fabolous NineNine espn basketball media just want to poisons peoples mind cause that performance by Wade will outshine jordans performance and other players like kobe lebron
It's insane to me how different the athleticism was between Bron and Dirk in this game, yet how the game of basketball has so many elements and Dirk could choose the way he wanted to dismantle a defensive player. Old man game, so nuanced.
LeBron does what he does best. Pass the ball when it matters most. 😂 Passed it to Wade to take that horrible last shot. I could say the same to him passing it to G. Hill too when he had curry on him! 😂 This your king?! LMFAAOO
lmao ikr, Lebron scared to take last second SHOTS for win n Lebron fans says that's betta than mj?? lol hahaha please! LBJ is the most overrated player EVER
Lowkey dont see a 28 year old kobe losing with wade and Bosh ever. Lebron doesnt know how to play 2nd option to nobody this is why he lost this series on the low. Not a knock on lebron he just always want to do everything lmao
Ballin Too MJ dealt with a some of the most intense defense. If you play basketball you know its much harder to score when someone is hand checking you. Just watch the Pistons against him, its so much more tough to score than it is nowadays.
I'm yelling like this game JUST happened. One of the (if not THE) BEST moments in Dallas Mavericks history because this game changed the tone for the cocky Heat and the entire series!
Plebtile my bad read that wrong. A playoff series that comes to mind that LeBron had no business losing was that ‘09 season against orlando magic. Robbed us of him goin up against kobe in the finals smh..
Plebtile cause Lebron threw his game this series he avg 17ppg while he avg 26ppg last series against bulls and he is not even injured and definitely in his prime
I'm a Heat fan for life and this series thoroughly traumatized me for life. Blowing a 15 point lead when we were on the verge of going up 2-0 and then LeBron putting up a glorious 8 points when we could have gone up 3-1. I love LeBron but that still pisses me off to this day. He cost Wade a finals MVP that year.
I'm surprised lebron didn't team up with dirk when lebron had chances of doing it on multiple occasions but dirk one of few that can say that he beat lebron
Ahmad2423 Man what? Can you read? I said Dirk is the only legit star who has beaten LBJ but also never lost to him in the finals. Duncan/KD/Russ/Curry etc have all lost to him. Dirk didn’t. You got “the man is 1-8 in the finals” from reading my post? Which part got you heated?
Dirk with the tongue out putting Bosh on a string! Damn!!!! Nasty and that Dwade shot was so close to actually falling… I remember it live all to well!! That’s when as a Mavs fan I knew they could win for the first time since the Finals were announced
Dirk won the year when you could say Bryant, James, and Durant were most even to each other in skill. The year before Durant is not as high. The year after Kobe falls off a bit.
Do you guys know what happened to lebron in this series? Was it the pressure that everyone wanted him to fail or just mavs defended him reall good because i have never seen him performe this bad in 2010s era.
ZAK KAZ he was subpar at best, not too sure what happened. He had a great defensive series against the bulls and than laid the biggest egg I’ve ever seen to be honest. Not a LBJ fan but he still should have won this. No excuses at all
ZAK KAZ No clue. He and Wade tore it up the whole playoffs. Then LeBron did...this in the finals. You would think that he would fold in the earlier rounds but he was tearing it up, which makes this series much more baffling than it already was
Dirk and the Mavs team was a really good team that year. Terry was hitting decent amount of 3s really well that year too. They had good vets. Tyson chandler, kidd, marion. Stevenson, hittin 3s aswell. And a very determined Dirk Nowitzki to top it off. Keep in mind, the mavs were in the finals back in 2006, lost to miami, with shaq on the squad then. Dirk wasnt about to lose again after waiting 5 yrs to be back against the same team. Credit the mavs for pulling off the finals win that year.
I love Dirk "Frankenstein" Nowitzki and I was so happy to see him winning. BUT witnessing 3 eternal losers such as James Wade and Bosh lose after "bringing their talents together" was the biggest satisfaction in NBA history.
Much like Michael Jordan's layup to cut the lead to one point, then steal on Karl Malone, and game winning last shot as a Bull in Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals. Dirk Nowitzki's 3 pointer to take the lead and game winning layup will live on in NBA history forever.. Dirk Nowitzki won the NBA Finals against all odds, and this performance was one of the most legendary perormances of all time.
If you watch the final inbounds play, Wade hesitated to see if he could hit Bosh with the full court pass but Kidd is right there so he gives it to LeBron late. If he makes the pass to LeBron directly off the rebound it catches the whole defense off guard and Bosh is open down court for a possible floater or layup
Not taking any credit away from Dirk cause he was amazing but honestly if he could beat Lebron and the Heat in the finals, man Larry Bird would've dominated if he played in today's era.
What does that have anything to with dirk? Except that there white. 2 different positions. 2 different skill sets. Dirks a better shooter, birds a better passer. Literally they have nothing in common except they both white and shoot 3’s. Stop comparing them!!!!
The warriors and these Heat teams had the same weakness. They were/are weak to dominate bigs. We'll see how this year plays out with the warriors and cousins.
