There can only be one GOAT and LeBron is not it. Sorry, a player who loses 6 NBA Finals and gets swept several times in the Play Offs can not be the GOAT. A Lakers fan here!
@@gokuswanson2037 Kobe went three straight years 2 against Boston and one against the Magic. Both of those teams beat the Cavs to get the finals. So who it was James it couldn’t lead his team and had to run and form a super team to compete.
I'll always be grateful to witnessing the two greatest athletes of my generation. It doesn't matter who the better player is for me, just watching both of them compete makes you realize you're watching the 2 best players in the court.
Damn man I miss the 2000s. I miss this era. This new generation is stacked with talent, but nothing like when the mamba was around duelling with young bron and other legends
"Relatively healthy" 🤣 ive NEVER seen a more non injury prone athlete in my life. Kobe broke fingers, his knees, acl. No disrespect but damn. Lebron is pure titanium
@@jer8279 I mean over his career sure but his lakers tenure his first year he got hurt they missed playoffs the year after the ring he got hurt again they had to go into the play in and lost in round 1 compared to any other 39 year old ever hes insanely durable but for lebron it’s been noticeable
When you know you are playing against someone as competitive as Kobe or Lebron, it will push you to be competitive as well. These guys were motivated playing against each other because it motivates you to play your A-game.
Also shows how much easier is to get a good fg% in 2023. You rarely if ever read of a 5/20 FG game by James these days despite being far from his physical prime. It's so much easier to get to the rim now. The 2000s were the last decade of balanced basketball with both offense and defense being played/allowed.
Kobe is my favorite, nor the GOAT, but people dismiss he played a lot when he shouldnt have, and didn't play when he should have early in his career. Kobes injuries are his fault though. He should've "load managed." Sounds weak, but he tore his ACL going way too many minutes a game at 34. Would KOBE "agree" hell no
the craziest part is kobe is a 46% shooter and lebron is a 51% shooter but when they matched up , kobe shot 42% and lebron shot 46% just goes to show the level of defence that they played against each other
Incorrect. Let me give you some real facts n real numbers. Head to head: Bron was literally light work to Kobe. When literally guarding each other on iso plays, kobe scored 20 points ppg while lebron scored 7 points ppg …. Also, when guarding each other, Kobe scores those 20 on a fg% of 54% while lebron had a fg% of 27% when kobe was on him…so on Offense or on defense ..Kobe completely dominated lebron. Pure skill. There’s levels to it. This video isn’t about Kobe vs Bron. It’s about the lakers vs whatever team lebron was on or created at the time. Cuz one on one..Kobe ate.
@fattony9227 "degree of difficulty"? Is that what we're calling hitting the back iron over 2 defenders when a teammate was wide open? It's funny when the macro numbers don't add up in the popular players' favor (Kobe was 6-16 head to head v LeBron teams) some run to ad hoc micro analysis to explain why Kobe didn't dominate LeBron.
@@MusicMakesAdiff23 LeBron's 16-6 record vs Kobe stretched 2004-2016. All I hear from every corner of sports media was _"LeBron's title runs were overrated....he dominated the LEastern conference."_ If this was true, Kobe Laker's teams, regardless, shouldve made quick work of any LeBron-led team. Funny when Kobe doesn't have the 1 v 1 statistical upper hand, its no longer an individual sport, *it's about the team.* But when career ranking conversations come up, "team" flies out the window and it's just the 1 player.
Adversity was being in a stacked team with prime shaq and Phil ? Kobe is not top 5 , but it's not like he's that much lower. He is still one of the greatest.
the ball hit the bottom metal edge of the rim and swish at the same time i done that before its when u perfectly avoid that long brick of the back of rim so if u wouldve shot any other way ot wouldve bricked 😑
I like the fact that both Kobe and Bron have slowed down each other and can dominate each other. trully shows their greatness. Also this shows how clutch Kobe is
yes 1 game out of 22. It happens to any player but it had absolutely nothing to do with kobe. majority of times even when bron was a rookie he used to outplay kobe head to toe. and koeb was never even brons matchup lol. in 22 games kobe and bron guarded each other lik earpund 23 -24 times only cause they got switched onto@@randomperson2540
@nonstop, can you please tell me the name of that beat rite at 11:14, when they start talking about Dawhite Howard.. if u can... i really want it.. ty❤
in all the matchups both had different teams its impossible to determine the best player by matchups some players have good days others bad. Both amazing players tho RIP KOBE 💛💜
@@snowreganit6739lmao so stupid. No one was afraid of Kobe at that point it was all about the Celtics. Kobe is the one that couldn't get back to the damn finals to play against lebron
@@edgardoMurniaonly you LBJ meat goblins believe that, while real fans and the actual NBA players know Kobe was way better 😭 n tbh it wasn’t even close
Not really. Lebron never went at Kobe. He usually always called for picks and switches to get the mismatch where as Kobe wanted Lebron straight up to prove who was better.
@@pablosnackbar6417yeah because they added KD lol. If the second and third best players of an era have to team up to beat the best it doesn’t mean they’re better individual players. LeBron had the Cavs up in 2015 even though the Cavs lost the second and third best players. This is why focusing on rings to determine the best players is nonsensical. It’s a team sport.
Never, ever thought Lebron would be the nba's all time scoring champ. EVER. LOL. This was a very GOOD video,I'm gonna watch one of their match-up games on youtube. Totally different nba back then compared to todays nba. I didn't miss many games back then, like I do now. LOL.
Arguably the only player of the modern era that could legitimately compete with Kobe in terms of not worshipping him and not being dominated by Kobe. People don't realize that Bron himself had a strong personality. Kobe had a fierce personality but to be honest by about 2009 most people had accepted that Bron was the better player. Kobe I feel peaked in 2008 but Bron peaked in 2016. The 2 never really met at their peaks.
Past regular season games are useful only for the bettors and oddsmakers since it will determine who would be the favorite and the underdog. Lebron having the better head-to-head record simply means that he has the batter probability to win, not to ACTUALLY win.
@shrayesraman5192 versatile overall and versatile on offense are 2 different things and unfortunately rather u believe it or not, Brons offense game isn't that versatile. He is gifted though and blessed with size and speed so he doesn't have to do much to score but yeeeaaa he's predictable forsure.
Fun video. It made me realize, looking back, that Team USA Basketball has a history of being the venue for passing the torch from one Gen of stars to the next...
What kind of bullshit line is this: "When they matched up 1 on 1 it was Kobe who had the advantage"? The one game where he had the advantage was an all-star game?
@@footyroll8678 the only thinge lebron is better at is CHOKING on the biggest stage of all the NBA Finals where he has an abysmal 22-33 Record with 6 Finals loses
As a LeBron fan i admit Kobe was cooking my guy one on one even on defense but after the game LeBron team got the win most times as their teams faced off.
Doesn’t matter. Lebron had 3 chances to face Kobe in the finals but failed each time. Yes they couldve faced off in 2007 but what no one ever mentions is how that 2007 lakers team was just as bad as the cavs and they had to play in a much tougher western conference
Probably the most non-biased take on their head to head. There were dynamics, roster changes, team changes that could have contributed to the numbers. Numbers don't tell the whole story. It's not like every game their defensive assignments were automatically set against each other. At the end of the day it's just social media spurring debates but we all know there was no animosity between these two. Just respect
16-6 with better stats and efficiency. There’s no angle to this where Kobe is better than Bron. People gonna claim winning doesn’t matter in this matchup but then use it for legacy.
whats on paper doesnt dicate whos better on the court. if kobe is the closest thing to mj that means everyone else is under mj AND kobe. opinions dont make players better than others. people who think stats on paper dicates wins are idiots
@@nomercyinc6783notice how numbers and records only work when it's in LBJ favor. Say ok MJ better because he has better stats ( all advanced analytics say Jordan overall stats better ) and he 6-0 in the finals and LBJ 4-6. Watch them now change the measuring stick..
@@nomercyinc6783 Having a similar skill set to MJ doesn’t make him better than LeBron. There are other ways to play basketball and dominant games. LeBron at his peak was better than Kobe. His career is better than Kobe’s. This is even apparent in the games they played against each other. His play led to a lot more winning while also putting up better numbers.
while only shooting 27% when guarded by Kobe vs Kobe shooting 54% while guarded by Bron. Just like Brons entire career, he just got more help to overcome the many flaws in his game.
@@lioninthesun Not really, he only had the better record. Lebron still had better Finals stats including more FMVPs. Kobe was literally Robin to Shaq's batman for 3 of his 5 rings whereas Lebron was always Batman.
@@johnjackson9819how's he robin when he avg similar stats to Shaq and it was hin who won them the series in a couple of instances as well because shaq fouling out? How's someone avg 30+ a robin anyways

He clears everyhting. even 1 on 1 its ridiculous to give kobe even tho that measn nothing. this entire video is basically saying hoe bron has been better than kobe since 2006@@michaelbarrett8379
For each game, you should put their points and efficiency along side each others to have a direct comparison, and your audience would see that it is not even close who is better.
@@Kevin-xy8ym No hate, no excuses, just facts. You LeBron fan boys always think people hate him just because we don't agree that he's not what ya'll make him out to be. On top of that, ya'll be the same ones saying oh it's a regular season game when LeBron gets his ass whooped regular season. Whenever the narrative doesn't favor LeBron anymore, ya'll switch it up. Lebron also outrebounds Kobe, and Out Assists Kobe. Don’t forget that statline. Lebron is the better player. Imagine having the ball more as well, Kobe simply isn’t as good. That says something.
@@-_Bee Kobe only teamed up with 2 elite players in Shaq & Gasol to win 5. Lebron teamed up 5 elites in Love, Irving, AD, Bosh and Wade to win only 4. Kobe > Lebron.
@TellenJones That's Shaq championship 😂😂. SHAQ won those Final mvps, at least Lebron won all he's finals mvps. He was the best player on all championship teams, not Kobe lol. How you only win 1nba mvp 😂😂. Lebron have 4x of those 4 championships and 4 final mvps
Bron's teams def got the better of Kobe in these matchups no argument there, but the Mamba cooked Bron everytime in the 1v1 situations...... rest in peace Kobe we love and miss you
If Kobe cooked him, he would have taken the task of being his primary defender…but he didn’t take on that task. He shied away from it. Lebron averaged more ppg against Kobe teams than his actual career average. Where was the Mamba Mentality 🤔
@@michaelmaccrazy bro Lebron never guarded Kobe. Like ever. He never guards the other teams best players. Look up the 1v1 stats from when they played, Lebron shot 27% when guarded by Kobe 🥶

I know this is a Kobe and Lebron vid. I enjoy both players. No one ever got me like MJ did though. MJ in his prime was really something to watch. Not only the skill, but the determination, fire, compassion…. And yes, facial expressions MJ had along with skill on all sides of the game, MJ in his prime probably was the best to ever do it.
AGREED.Lots of hand-checking in MJ's era, plus MJ was constantly getting hammered driving to the rim.The Pistons just threw and pounded MJ to the ground-REPEATEDLY. LOL. Hard fouls were the norm when MJ entered the nba, plus dunking on fellow players was a sign of disrespect in MJ's earilier days in the league and they'd retaliate against you most times.
Kobe was the better player but injuries and bad teams in the mid-2000s combined with awful teams in the 2010s and more injuries plus LeBron’s first superteam helped shape a winning record for LeBron. Kobe really needed to rest more to prevent injury 😪😪😪
People always point to the record to say Lebron was better without knowing the context or even watching the games. All the record shows is which team was better. When they went toe to toe, Kobe was better and it was obvious. People who know basketball know.
