Nah man, I like summoning. It's great for getting through the game quick to get to the PVP. It's also good if you don't have a lot of spare time. I've since beaten the game without summoning, but I think some bosses are better with summons (e.g. Shadows in Bloodborne, that shitty gank fight in DS2).
