Trooper's Narrative: On Saturday, 6/18/2023, I was patrolling southbound in the area of Geyer Springs Road and Interstate 30. I observed an individual on a dirtbike traveling northbound on Geyer Springs. The individual was performing a "wheelie" while traveling past me at the intersection with I-30. I turned around and activated my emergency equipment in an attempt to perform a traffic stop. The operator pulled into a parking lot as if to stop but immediately began to flee southbound on Geyer Springs Road. The operator turned into the parking lot to travel east into the rear parking lot of the ASP Headquarters before turning around and exiting back southbound on Geyer Springs. I continued to chase until I lost sight of the bike near the Geyer South Shopping Plaza. Responding units were able to locate the suspect and continued to chase as it traveled northbound towards I-30 on Geyer Springs. The bike turned westbound to take the on-ramp for I-30. The operator traveled on the service road before jumping the gorge and traveling west on I-30. The operator traveled westbound for approximately a mile before taking the exit for McDaniel Drive. The operator performed a U-turn in a field near the service road and began to travel east in the westbound lanes of the I-30 service road. The operator was located again near McDaniel Road until he cut across a field and through an opening in a fence to travel back toward I-30. Units then began to lose sight of the operator as he was traveling east in the westbound lanes of traffic of Interstate 30. After a short time, responding units were unable to relocate the operator on the bike and the pursuit was terminated. The information regarding the suspect and vehicle remains unknown at this time.
Choosing where to outrun the police for a motorcycist is like choosing a flavor of ice cream for the average person. It's less about practicality than it is about how you feel that day. Are you in the mood for rocky road, or are you in the mood for something more smooth but plain today?
He only knows how to ride wheelies anyone who actually has real motocross experience would lose those cops in less than 30 seconds. He was able to ride it enough to get away eventually. I think it was funny watching them go around in circles as he cut back through parking lots making fools of them.
My mind was screaming "get off the roads!!" The entire video. Like dude, don't lead the cops into hurting someone, just disappear off into the woods or down a trail or field of something. Get off the road! Lol
Its illegal and these bikers do other things than just ride illegal bikes! They put peoples lives in jeopardy daily riding on sidewalks speeding through city streets, running red lights and God forbid its a group of them its the mob mentality, they attack people and serious Injury or death happens...fk that biker
I knew a Florida man that once ran from a cop on a three wheeler, he dismounted the bike in midair and landed on the other side of a canal on his feet and kept running.
Damn imagine how that dirt biker must feel having done a legit high speed chase and actually got away. I’m sure he won’t be sharing the story for a while but one day he’ll tell his grandchildren and it’ll be the most epic thing ever. Probably keep that helmet and show them this video like “yeee-up! Dats yer gran papi right der!”
I think there’s a 99% chance that even if another car was involved in an accident with a dirt bike, only the rider would be injured. So pursuing someone for this is just asinine. Having 9 police cars chase after 1 bike puts a lot more people at risk.
It takes a couple of blondes to change a light bulb, but plenty of ego assholes to catch up with the ego of a single asshole. The whole lot at the exexpense of public safety.
When the moment presents itself on a dirt bike is to get off the pavement as quickly as possible because you gotta be playing chess and stay a move a head while the law is playing checkers if you don’t want your bike impounded and go to jail
Troopers should have immediately used the law of diminishing returns and just let him go. If the guy rides like that often the problem will fix itself.
Y’all wanna know something funny? Right after trooper circles and goes under the bridge the main Arkansas State Police Headquarters are just to the left behind the McDonalds. This was a risky move on biker’s behalf. 😂😂😂
That McDonald's in the morning is very interesting, cops getting coffee and junkies getting a meal and washing up in the bathroom. Hell of a biscuit though.
I think the cops enjoys the exercise. And they know most dirt bikes are almost always running on empty. Some have a fuel tanks with less than ten litres capacity.
@@Deontjieno dirtbikes get atleast 45 miles for one gallon and they usually hold about 2 gallons so they could go a full atleast 90 miles before having to go to a gas station
Not even attempted… that helmet does not protect the actual part of your face that will hit the ground. He had zero gear on & intentionally hitting a motorcycle almost always is followed by running the motorcyclist over. So, yea, that would be illegal af & I can’t believe I’m about to say I respect Byrd…🤦🏾♂️ dude can drive his cruisers & his percent rating gotta look like steph curry. So, I don’t think he would have knocked dude off his bike… cops are getting desperate when it comes to motorcycle pursuits & are suggesting drastic measures to end them that I personally don’t agree with… I don’t care what the suspect did. Catch him when he runs out of gas or makes a mistake & falls on his own. But, don’t knock anybody off their bike. I think that’s one of the cruelest things to do to a person. Physics are unforgiving. & the sudden stop hurts everybody, & dude didn’t deserve to die cause he did a wheelie. A good wheelie. You mad? You jealous?🤣🤣🤣
Damn right. Then he can tell his buddies, from the hospital bed, what happened and they'll reconsider their foolish actions. Then when someone else does the same, pit them too. Word will start to travel that it won't be tolerated..
Ya know, this is the latest in a string of pursuits where I ask "Why don't we use nets anymore?" Esp with foot pursuits. C'mon now, some technology is timeless and we need to stop wasting taxpayer dollars being so dang careful to not hurt the tender troubled misunderstood criminal committing crimes in front of our faces.
This shit pisses me off and I almost ran a four-wheeler over not too long ago here in Florida because they cut me off at a green light. They think they own the road. Without tags or lights on their bikes they are hard to see. When I was growing up I rode all the time but we stayed off the main roads. If you pull in front of me on an unregistered bike and you become a shitstain on the road that's your fault. That's how I feel anymore. 🎉 Here is your Darwin award
@@jasperlovin6496 go ahead and pull in front of me and I'll run you over like I did the last four wheeler. It's not to each their own when you're breaking the law and you're taking mine away from me. At that point I have every right to do something about it and I wasn't the one that was crying. I hit that four-wheeler so hard I tweaked his rear axle and the five deputies that were chasing all 30 bikes laugh their asses off when I pulled into the next parking lot to go to amscot. F*** you, you ain't holding me up. Take that s*** somewhere else
We can only hope that happens before he kills someone Sadly emergency responders will have to put the body into a bag, do lots of paperwork and then tell his mother that the idiot is DEAD
@@agentanderson3976 uh huh.. you have never been to those crowded southeastern republican big cities then... those bikes are a nuisance regardless of party. Florida in particular. But sure, "blame the democrats."
@Kelly-oq9nh Yes that's exactly what I mean. Let everyone do what they want, naturally. I mean how could any rational person reach ANY other conclusion? Nope, everyone does what they want. Right now I think I'm gonna go eat a bag of babies.
...and in the end all they did was put the community in danger with multiple 3,000 lb vehicles flying around. You know you're not supposed to put the boot all the way down your esophagus, right?
@@caliindoor they did it for the fleeing charge...they will build a record against him...eyes in the skies at times too help these pursuits... read more, they are known for doing this in various precincts/states....
No, ita the propaganda and hatred that their captors have for them. Since others are trying to get a cookie, they try to join in. If this 'class' were gone, all hatreds would be redirected towards another
@@Thebrothaisback Nice try, I suppose, but facts speak too loud on this point, unless the "cookie" is criminality and prison , then I'm right with you.
So about 250k in damage by the police cars for a guy doing a wheelie? The way they were chasing him you would have thought he robbed a bank and murdered people. The police really need to rethink their pursuit policy.
Well that’s not a street legal vehicle so there’s that and I’m guessing probably no insurance. Riding motorcycles is just fine but you gotta be a big boy and follow some rules and respect the other motorists. These dudes can’t think past themselves that’s why they’re suited for incarceration.
@@MK-xl9ttYes sir that's right. Sure a family might get killed by one of these bat out of hell police cars built with terrible handling. BUT like you said that's not a street legal vehicle and he popped a damn wheelie so that's worth risking innocent lives. Am I right brother? 🇺🇲🤪
@@woooose it’s not about popping a wheelie, come on man think a little, it’s about the dude having no concern for anyone else on the road, sidewalks, parking lots wherever this guy is acting like an idiot with no accountability for his actions, not to mention probably no insurance if he would cause any damage to bystanders. Probably my biggest concern with these selfish morons is if they eat it acting stupid and some grandmother or new driver mows them down which would certainly ruin their day and most likely scar them for life. I realize I’m probably in the minority but some people understand driving on public roadways comes along with responsibility and maintaining the proper credentials. Am I right?
Dirt bikes can go places no others can. I don't think it's worth the chase. I see people doing wheelies on street crotch rockets almost daily in my area. No one seems to think too much about it.
@@jordankidd587 yeah imagine a family going head on in to one of these police cars over some gu who did a wheelie. The cops in this town wicked to the core
Holy Shit! If that was The Byrd he would have a major case of road rash! Did the dude think he was in the "X-Games"? Although, I think the Byrd would have ended it fast and still protected the innocent folks as well....I cannot believe the shit that the ASP deals with every fucking day. I would really like to visit Little Rock one day just to talk to the troopers. I was pulled over by the Wyoming State Police and Wyoming does not have a lot of people compared to the lower 48 States and the Trooper who pulled me over for "speeding" (doing 95 mph in an 85 mph zone) was super cool as I just told him the truth. We ended up comparing our cars as I had an Impala SS with drop down displacement and he had a Dodge Charger Pursuit Special. I will never forget that. We spent about 30 minutes talking on the Interstate on a beautiful day and he said "We are a little rough on our Pursuit Specials". LOL., All good... Thanks so much for the videos....
No idea why everyone thinks Trooper Byrd would break the law like that. The Use of Force policy is in black and white... that is why nobody ELSE pit that sucker either.
They don't hit a motorcycle, but will let them run into their unit. Every time I seen they were close they'd of had to ram him instead of the other way around. Now if he jumps off to run-different story.
I would most certainly have hit him and suffered the consequences with my boss, that was a complete waste of resources and he clearly played games with the officers.
He wasn't doing 100, the Leo was. (shown on the screen) while catching up to him (ie chasing him down at a faster speed). The Leo states "doing "70" on the recording)
Seen a guy do that on the bypass in hot springs this past week except he laid it down. Just another greasy spot on the road afterwards. Play dumb games win dumb prizes
This is why I despise dirt bikes and four wheelers. Too many lawless people on them putting innocent people at risk. I hope he does not hurt anyone before he dies. Driving like this will lead to his death of his own accord.
The motorcyclist's small wheelie is probably out of proportion to the extremely risky police pursuit of the road users present. The only thing missing was that they had shot the motorcyclist.
Back 40 years ago I'd do stuff like this kid But I NEVER stayed on pavement for long. Poof! Gone into the woods Unfortunately they knew who I was and where I lived. So I always rode home on my BMX like I didn't do nuthin
I used it ride my dirt bike on the road unregistered and unlicensed and I was underage. The police just let it go because they couldn’t be bothered to try to catch a bike that can go off road and lose them. I was only chased once when I was driving in a field at least 50 yards off the road. He had me trapped between two ramps and I couldn’t go where I wanted to go. I stopped and took a break with the fool only about 50 yards from me on the other side of a big mud hole. I finally fired up the bike again and rode off into the bush and took the long way home. I was disappointed he didn’t try going through the mud and get stuck.
they were clearly butt hurt LOL. They didn't stand a chance. Their behavior I would relate to a ten year old with no critical thinking skill. like maybe it's not worth it, someone might get killed on the sidelines. Disgusting. I got pulled over one time in VA returning home to NY from Florida and let me tell you this trooper became unhinged. I was only 21 and he was threatening me with jail and all. Because I was cruising down from 78 to 55 where it abruptly changed. I was with my buddies in a vehicle. I"ve never felt so disrespected in my life. Never had a ticket in my life to that point. So now when I see troopers act like this I have zero respect. They are probably just uneducated and had a rough childhood. Now I hate traveling through Virginia. Sorry for my rant.
right lol, I usually side with the law. But I was 100% rooting for the biker. These officers acted like they had the brain's of a ten year old. At what point do you just let it go. After you kill an innocent bystander with you're pathetic butt hurt attitude. Because he clearly humiliated them. Sad.
The bike rider was lucky he didnt have Officer Byrd chasing him! Byrd goes into Greyhound Mode and destroys everything he chases. No exceptions. There were a few moment in this one where it could have been dirt bike vs. cruiser but the Byrd element was not there.
You have to be a mature LEO, if not Supervisor, to know when it's just NOT worth the pursuit! Not worth the community being endangered. Either end it quickly or call it off.
Thought the same. 80 mph in town, running red lights, speeding through parking lots, wrong way in one way areas. The cops put far more people at risk here than a 300 pound dirt bike. Ego. The police looked like absolute lunatics in this one. I wonder if catching this guy was worth the possibility of causing a fatal crash. Nope
@@shanes1112BUT he popped a WHEELIE! So what if we let chomos and murders bond out of jail right after getting booked. This is America and we will gladly risk the lives of innocent motorists to pursue a wheelie popper 🇺🇲🤪
At 2 min's in on video Really is that important Yes it was wrong but nobody was put in danger except a Law Enforcement officer flying around potentially causing a wreck
Count the potential accidents this shows from the troopers, all for a wheelie.... They scream "public safety" until its time to provide it, then they do this.... i get it, who doesnt want the thrill of a GTA mission.... its just not worth the risk of others
After a short time, responding units were unable to relocate the operator on the bike and the pursuit was terminated. The information regarding the suspect and vehicle remains unknown at this time.
@@caliindoor Yepper Have you ever seen the damage a motorcycle or human does when it comes through the front windshield hitting the driver in the face? It's called immediate death!
@@Hurst6969Have you seen what a 3000lb vehicle does when it loses control and hits a family in a car? All for feeling the need to chase a guy out having fun doing wheelies😂😂
@@gixxerjerm9632 Actually I have. Have extricated numerous people (some survived, some didn't) from accidents. Actually gave directions to save a teen who had a leg go out a window, around a stop sign and back in the window. The idiot and his friends decided to drive drunk and hit a pole at about 8'. Took driver and passenger's heads off immediately. What is the point of your question?
When I was a teen in the 70's, we used to have the cops chase us on our dirt bikes. They'd almost kill themselves and others over kids riding dirtbikes in the middle of nowhere. They never caught us, we'd just duck out on a trail. We'd sit on a hill and watch the idiots drive around in circles for an hour or two. We couldn't believe how much time they'd waste. Their egos are so fragile.😂
You have to ask yourself who the real criminal is here the poor kid, doing a wheelie down the street, or all these cop cars, creating deadly hazards, and tearing up lawns, who is the real criminal here? I don’t think it’s the young man just simply being a young man
Easy to get away from Police on a dirt bike just jump curbs go the other way. If you know your way around find a narrow spot they can't get their patrol car through like a school yard has a man gate. If you're in wooded area just turn into the woods vanish. Don't want to get on roads or highways where patrol car has the advantage.
@@caliindoor I ain't pretending. I'm 71 and just said that's what I'd have done. When I was young enough to qualify it would probably have been allowed. Don't assume.
I have to admit, I was rooting for the dirt bike on this one. Disrupting the town, tearing up lawns, and beating up the cop cars just to catch someone for doing a wheelie is r-tarded.
