THE CAM WAS COMPARED TO A STOCK LM7 CAM ON A NATURALLY ASPIRATED (ALUMINUM) 5.3L L33. CHECK OUT THE POWER GAINS! I THEN RAN THE SAME CAM COMPARSION (STOCK LM7 VS LOW BUCK TRUCK) AFTER ADDING A SINGLE TURBO TO THE 5.3L. DOES A TRUCK CAM MAKE A GOOD TURBO CAM...DEFINITELY YES!

I think the shady thing is BTR doesn't tell you LS3/LS6 springs are sufficient for their version of the cam, leading people to believe they need beefy aftermarket springs.

Hi Richard I seen 1 of your videos where you put a 54- 469 -11 comp cam in a 6 liter I ended up doing that and a 4l80e put that in a 87 iroc z what a blast with a 3000 Ryan Jan's converter.I want now go for 1000 hp just to say I did it.i picked up a vs racing 80 mm turbo with a 1.32 AR I was wondering will that have major lag?will that cam be to big?the engine will not stay 1000hp just 1 time plan to turn down to 600 for street driving thank you for your help and awesome videos

Absolutely love the videos but running system with high dollar holley, and 80lb injectors are a pretty far cry from stock. Could you do more truly stock cam/springs only Ls videos with stock ecu tune and stock injectors? Just for us truly "low buck" guys. Forgive me if ive missed those videos if youve done them already. Thanks.

you can't run cam upgrades with stock injectors (not enough fuel). The reason I don't run a stock ECU is because it takes way too long to tune on the dyno, but a properly tuned stock ECU will make the same power since it can supply the same AF and timing as the Holley

@@bri-manhunter2654 I just want to see some dyno numbers for the LBT cam I'm putting in my LY6 basement N/A rebuild. He did a video on estimating numbers on a Truck Norris cam in an LY6, which is "probably" very much the same as his LBT cam.

I already have the truck norris cam lifters springs ect on the future build shelf. Looking for the 07 or later rods and pistons. All going into my 01 suburban. I need to buy a reman 4l60e before I do the build this truck was abused before I got it. It is going to pull a lawn trailer and maybe a few sail boats. Would a turbo be over kill on that?

A turbo would kill your trans almost immediately with that setup, especially towing. Honestly you might be happiest just ordering a 383 stroker kit and a 4L80E

If I gap my rings and hone my cylinders do I have to re-break in the motor? It's already tuned with 44 lb injectors SS2 cam, I just gaped my rings for the gt45 turbo,went 30 t on them, I have 95 lb injectors ready to go in but I want to take it for a ride first is that a good thing or not?

no need to hone-but it will be fine. just drive it around with the same injectors and same tune before adding boost and bigger injectors

@richardholdener1727 to get a base line for fuel octane used. Yes quench rod length and engine temp comes into play aswell. Just want to know what base line you aim for with 11 to 11.5 static compression ratio.

@@lcxu1051 Way to many variables , A base line fuel is what ever you decide to run. NA or boosted its up to you carb or fuel injected. Me personally 11.0 to 11.5 id start in the 93 range and pretty much stay there n/a , Boost on 11.0 11.5 then id look at e 85 blends and so on. That cam will bleed some cylinder pressure with that small of overlap but not somthing to be to concerning

yes but this S480 was a T4 and most S475s are T6s-so it worked well-actually for 600 hp I would pick a Gt45

Somthing you can google and learn for your self or you can find a video on cams that richard did along time ago. I am kinda disappointed in his remark i wasnt dissing his cam or nothing i was simply saying 107 lsa I bet it has some chop. Thats all but its ok . I still follow his channel has some great info on them
