Now wrap your head around that all three of these guys were born and raised in Sweden and started off studying classical music and end up sounding like they've been playing funk , gospel, and r&b their whole lives.
Partially true, but they started early and played almost everything. And Jonah went on the classical line with piano, and Henrik and Aron went more to the jazz. (Afro-line in the old days.)
These guys are so special because first of all the drummer and the bass player are SUPERLATIVE and second because they are blending different kinds of music that have never been blended - I can't really put my finger on it either but it's somewhere between Pop and Rock and Jazz.
I know its Dirty Loops but they went from Jazz, then took us to a church feel.. Love the concept and music..This is by far one of the best pocketed group /trio/ musicians Ive heard in a long time!! Love It!!

Henrik can play licks only like .0025% of of bass players can play and he looks like he's playing fucking candy crush on the toilet while doing it. No effort, no thought at all. There is no god
I am a pianist, but there is a band that approached me like "please record bass parts for us because we know you love Henrik Linder, please apply his vibe for us" and I'm amazed but I feel respect for the obligation, if you know what I mean, of course I took it :)
Ever been to the NAMM convention in LA? Henrik comes to this event regularly, I even got a shout out from him on video! 😏😎 He IS Bass goals!!! This band is definitely out of this world, SICK!!!! I got that permanent ugly face every time I listen to them! lol 😂

Swedish Bass Player Henrik Linder. He is a phenomenal musician playing a 6 string bass, but so is Cory Wong, who stands in playing guitar on some songs, Jonah Nilsson (vocals and piano), Aron Mellergård (drums). They are still playing, still crushing it. Touring right now.
He risk Linder is on bass. You should definitely check out the workshop and product demo videos he has on RU-vid. He is an absolute beast. Their new song “bitten by the kitten” has insane bass.

Another RU-vidr was interviewing ths singer/keyboard player from Dirty Loops. They told him that they got together and formed the band when they were in Music College. . The RU-vid interviewer said " *PLEASE* tell me that you guys were the *_best_* students at that college, because if you weren't, how GOOD were the best students?"

Henrick the bass player and Aron the drummer is jazz trained Jonah the keyboard player and vocalist is classically trained. This is what you get when very player in the group is the best.

God bless you for skipping past all the racial bulls**t in every direction and mentioning the MJ connection. These cats are a great example of how everyone is different, and there's brilliance and power in every direction, all waiting to be shared, if people will just reach out and embrace the Good™ that all our different cultures have to offer. I heard it right away myself (as a bassist, Off The Wall was a *huge* album in my life), but even mentioning it in Nashville, TN, is an invitation to a flame war on Facebook. :( You're dead on accurate, though. These guys *def* borrow heavily from MJ and Stevie for sure -- I can't imagine what Michael would have sounded like with these cats in the studio with him (nothing against Steve Lukather, Quincy, etc)!
