DISASSEMBLY - WE M16A1 UPPER | AIRSOFT
In this episode I will disassemble a Wei-Tech M16A1 upper as requested by the FERG BURGER.

STEP 1: MAG AND SPLIT
Removing the mag and separate the lower from the upper.
STEP 2: FLASH HIDER & HANDGUARD
Unscrewing the flash hider and remove the handguards.
STEP 3: BOLT & CHARGING HANDLE
The bolt is removed by pulling back the charging handle, then removing the charging handle.
STEP 4: FRONT SIGHT / GAS BLOCK
I punch out the pins holding the gas block in place.
STEP 5: HANDGUARD CAP & GAS TUBE
Removing the handguard cap and gas tube.
STEP 6: DELTA RING
The delta ring is removed with the help of a heat gun.
STEP 7: OUTER AND INNER BARREL
After removing the delta ring I can the inner and outer barrel is now free.
STEP 8: DUST COVER
Opening the dust cover and removing the associated rod and spring
STEP 9: FORWARD ASSIST
I remove the forward assist by punching out the pin holding it in place.
STEP 10: HOP-UP UNIT
Lastly the hop-up unit is disassembled.
Note that I’m performing these modifications and disassemblies at my own risk. These alterations can go very wrong if you lack the skills, tools and knowledge required, and can damage your equipment and parts as well as cause injury on your person if you attempt them yourself.

I am very glad to hear that my work brings joy to people. Hopefully that will continue to be the case. And yes, I am ok. Just preoccupied with work and family. But more will inevitably come in the future.

Is this similar to how a Western Arms system would take down? I know the WE and WA systems are slightly different in some ways. I made the unfortunate mistake of buying an S&T GBBR, and I'd like to give a try at upgrading it to try and make it a bit more serviceable. Sorry if this is a dumb question.

4:01 hiiiiiii! I have a massive question, is that little screw the way to adjust the hop up?? Ive been trying to search for months and I finally found this video. If so, how the hell do i get to actually screw in that screw, its so small and in a very small space.

Yes, that screw (part number 117) is indeed how the hop-up is adjusted. The way to go is either a short L-shaped hex-key that'll allow you to adjust the hop-up very incrementally. Or you can buy a very long hex-key and pull out the rear pin, remove the bolt and adjust the hop-up that way. There used to be a flexible hop-up adjustment tool for the Wei-Tech rifles, but I haven't seen them in stock lately, unfortunately.

@@doomfireblade2693 If memory serves, it should be either a 1.00mm hex key, or even quite possibly a 0.75mm key. I can't remember correctly, and all my AR's are in storage currently. But the BB issue is not normal. Sounds like a broken bucking, broken or missing hop-up arm, or any combination or another hop-up related issue.

Any tips on removing the forward assist, trying to do it on mine to replace it and the pin is giving me a fight.

Make sure the pin retaining the forward assist is installed correctly, so the knurled end is not pointing downward. Also pushing the forward assist in while removing the pin might help in taking pressure off the pin. Hope this helps.

Would a blow dryer be sufficient to apply heat to the delta ring

I haven't tried that approach myself, but I would highly doubt it. The manual for blue loctite says 250 degrees Celsius, but I did not heat mine up to anywhere near that number. 100-125 Celcius, maybe, if I had to guess. If you have great faith in your hair dryer then give it a go. Just be careful when unscrewing the delta ring. You might need more power than what the dryer can provide.

I was wondering if you had any idea as to how to remove the pin thats holding the outer barrel onto the WE M4 SOL(416)? IDK how to remove it and I don't want to damage the outer barrel.

Strange question to ask on a M16A1 disassembly, but I'll roll with it. People keep asking me this, but I have never in my life seen a WE M4 or WE HK416 with a pinned barrel. This must be some new routine implemented by someone in the retail chain to make people buy separate M4 and CQB-R barrels. So in conclusion: I can not comment.

M4A1 would be rather difficult since it is way too long to fit that particular carbine. A better option would be a set of CAR-15 handguards with the correct handguard cap. M16A2's are of the correct length, however the handguard cap is round, if memory serves. Thus you'd need to replace quite a few parts for very little payoff. I'd suggest swapping complete upper assemblies if required.

Hey I know it has nothing to do with this video but what's the difference between aps cam870 mk1 and mk3 ? I know mk2 has a gas bolt but what's the difference with the other two?

There is a great parts compatibility and explanation chart posted in the CAM870 facebook group. Way to much information to write down in a reply to a comment, but the information is out there. I would make a video on the subject, but I lack a Mk3 to complete said video.

Dunno if you can help but do you think a Double Bell/DBoys M203 will install on this WE M16A1? I'm thinking of getting the M16A1, a M203 and the M203 upper handguard by G&P. The fittings on the M203 look like they'll fit but it was just a question I was wondering if you had any idea about. M16A1 and M203 looks fucking brilliant IMHO, I could never bring myself to get an M4, classic M16 looks all the way..

I believe it will fit, if the attachment point on the DB M203 is made for real-spec barrels. Otherwise I'd recommend a G&P M303.

I have a question I have JG Newest Version M16-VN Vietnam Airsoft AEG Rifle and the barrel wobbles a lot I heard you’re suppose to put tape on the threads but I don’t know how because I’m dumb could you help me out.

Sad to say, but the JG/WELL/AGM/ACM brands are of rather poor quality. Adding thread tape is just a temporary solution since it will wear out after enough time. The best bet is to treat the chinese copies as expendables and save up for a better quality replica, like the G&G, G&P, Systema, WE, GHK and many more which fills your desired niche. The chinese copies, like my SY 1911, are great fun for the price, but I would not depend on them in a pinch. Hope this is food for thought.

Why would it be steel? It's more expensive, more difficult to machine, and weighs far more than aluminium. Also, the real M16A1 is made from aluminium alloy.

@@SpecialWeaponsAndPlastic was just wondering because the real steel lower you put on the m16 looks like a bit diffrent than the standart WE so i was wondering if they are the same metal or is there a big diffrent in qaulity i wanted to know because i like weathered look on guns like i did on my ghk akm but if it comes out like super shiny aluminium it wouldent look that great
