Perfect: you are very skilled. I used your instructions to change the cells in my Honda Civic Hybrid 2008 and now it is running perfectly! I live in Italy and I changed the cells after 14 years.
Thank you for this really educational video. You have removed the fear I had about electric cars (the cost of replacing batteries that had to be exorbiting).
This video is needing mass circulation/viewings, and I wish you and yours the buisness you deserve simply based off of your generous time given here(and consideration)!
I waited a week after I replaced the batteries of my old Honda Civic, (to reply to this post), the reason being to see if I did the right choice. Indeed it was!!! Replacing the batteries was the solution for a 'new' car!!!
Hi, very interesting job 👍 I have a question, my hybride batterie mounted on peugeot 508 , is not good , this battery element is it available ? However is it possible to adapting this ? The peugeot module have 4 accu element. Thanks for your help.
Hello excellent the video and thanks for sharing your knowledge, those modules sell them in the USA? You could give me some address or where to look I have a Honda Hybrid Civic 2009, please
I have one question sir, I am going to buy Honda civic 2007 hybrid, but battery is weak and it’s not in a running mode,, my question if battery is weak then it won’t run??
Would you happen to know if the batteries for this assembly are Nimh or Li Ion? I'm attempting to repurpose the batteries but cannot find any information on them. I've seen some labeled at 15v but the ones I have are all at 6-5.5v.
Sir I have honda fit hybrid 2011 model I have changed my engine with gair due not power of engine but the same problem facing tell now i change the battery?
Hi, guys I have replaced two of battery sticks, followed the instructions strictly, but after reassembling, the car don` t recognized the battery module at all, ima, check engine and red battery lights are lighting on the board, the hybrid system is not functionally. In the junction board (from the flat washers) I have meassured 75 and 90 volts, but 0 volts in collective + and - connectors after I reinstall the battery in the car, and put the switch in the on position. Finally I was put back the replaced sticks, but I have the same problem. Can you help me with some ideas, instructions, please?
Great video. I may have to refer to it pretty soon for my daughter's car. Btw, @18:55 I suspect your life will be easier if you just turn the pack so those spacers/washers will just sit on top.... anyway, thanks a lot !!
You could try checking the voltages across low battery packs to see if you have to replace all of them the ones with the low numbers are most likely the bad ones
Voltage does not tell you much especially with Hondas, Most of the time the bad cells in Hondas still have good voltage. the best way to tell is with test equipment but there are not cheap machines that do a good job that are available
after replacing broken "sticks" and reassembling the battery into the car, does the software needs to be updated? Or all IMA faults will be cleared automatically and the car can be driven with right away?
is there a video on how to tell which one is "Broken" I do have 2 battery packs and was thinking of taking the good batteries out and swapping the bad ones.
@@mrnpc1602 I bought a 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid yesterday and it runs great even with the IMA/Engine light and 1 battery deterioration error code. Would love to know how to use a IMA Tester to replace just the bad battery cells.
After installing the IMA battery, we must disconnect the 12v battery (negative and positive) under the hood. Wait 30 seconds. This will allow the computer to restart and determine the status of the newly installed hybrid battery. If it's good, you will have no problem generally and can drive away. No need to see a dealer. You will know if it's bad. Follow instructions and study very carefully. Then, you will have no problem except for those that the hybrid battery will give (i.e. not working well). They can drive well and for a long time with the check engine code: P0A7F.
Just a recommendation, I would screw a 2x4 along the leading edge of bench flush with top. Just to make a sacrificial edge that can be replaced. Thank you for the expertise video.
Hi I just bought remanufactured cell battery from you guys and I removed the old and installed a new one,I did installed pretty and the connect everything, and start the car the IMA lights come on and battery light on and it won’t charge at all,and I disconnected the negative terminal on the battery and put back on and still the same issue.
in the brand they do an reprogram on bcm. But this is not simple like this, after do this we need to get them all connected together to balance, if put onbalanced after some time you will get error
Kevin Williams load tester tests up to 14 V and even more. You can test every each of the cell to see which one discharging behavior is different than other. if your ima battery is too old and you always have ima light , odds are all cells are bad and you need new complete pack (11 pairs). I meant for Honda ima system, all batteries has to be in same charging capacity, if one is different it’s not going to work car will be stranded Vs in Prius, battery capacities doesn’t matter that much, it’s tolerance is big if you replace one or 2 bad cell it will run without any light.
hi everyone ,if anyone else wants to learn about recondition 12v battery try Battery Recovery Tactics ( battery.RecoveryTactics.com ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my colleague got great success with it.
I have a 2010 honda insight, tell me where i can buy element for battery, and also tell the analogues that are suitable. I'm from Russia)))) help me please))))
That's pretty good. Don't worry for a while. You will know when it's going bad. And, even when it is going bad, it may still go for a while. Wait for check engine codes and don't fix the battery too early. Get your moneys worth, then move straight to new sticks when you feel they are too bad. Or, grid charge and discharge them using maxx volts. That's my best option.
There are different sizes of the orange/green stacks, and they are not interchangeable. Different models of batteries, different cars or years, I'm not even sure. Even the distance between the bolt holes are different. I suppose you could use the smaller size in the larger case, but they won't be tightly held in place. The difference is only 1 or 2 mm, but it's enough to make interchange impossible, near as I can figure. Any ideas??
