Excellent video! Thank you for keeping this video online. It was much needed information because everyone was a Google technician, and I was getting different instructions for the same thing. This video got me back on the road again!
Nice video ! Just one little mistake in what you're saying : The battery is supplying DC current/voltage to the inverter, not three phase. It's actually converting that DC to three phase AC in phase with motor speed to run it ;)
FYI to anyone out there, those “1,000 volt gloves” aren’t anything without the lamb skin keepers. Do not, ever, use those rubber gloves by themselves as demonstrated in this video.
Hi, I want to install a 12-volt car generator instead of the compressor on the battery. Will there be an error due to the worn out of the 158-volt battery? Honda Civic Hybrid
Does any of the electrical architecture of the Civic have a difference between the different generation of the vehicle's Like from first generation to the latest. I know they discontinued .
I am going to take a look at a Honda Hybrid that is ffg or sale. The car has about 133k miles on it. That worries me a lot. How can I determine whether the battery pack will need to be replaced soon or not? The owner says that he DC doesn't know.
For Honda civic hybrid owners I have 2006 Honda civic hybrid (reborn shape) this car has CVT automatic transmission. On plane roads or slight slope car runs fine acceleration is good. But on really steep slope car slowly comes to stop and then does not revs past 1.5 rpm and car does not move (this happens when hybrid battery is depleted ) What the issue? I went to monal islamabad with 6 people in car , car went uphill nicely until last steep slope and then it stopped. Had my friends to get out of car and push.
The max weight for the 2006 and 2007 Civic Hybrid is low/1500 lbs. I have the 2008 Civic Hybrid and it has the max weight rating at 4500 lbs so I'm very happy with uphill fully loaded.
Good info. Would have liked to seen the 12v battery test you did at the beginning, again after the new hybrid battery was installed. Did it fix your battery charging issue or not?
7:36 the inverter takes high voltage DC and converts it to AC 3-phase. DC power doesn't come in "phases" only pos and neg. In addition the converter takes HV DC and steps it down to 14.5V to charge your 12V battery
GREAT Video guys!! So this needs to be replaced no doubt right? Batteries cannot be repaired correct? just replaced and that's it right? Thanks a lot for your comments
I have a 05 Honda Accord Hybrid with check engine lite on an the mi on too. All features of the hybrid function as it always did. So dear said it's the battery. Is it still the battery code is (poac 4) by 2
What should happen is it is rebuilt, 1/28th of it, one stick, can be replaced and recover function because the major malfunction is usually in one cell which prevents the entire many-hundred-cell pack from working It is called a battery rebuild. You keep 95+% of the thing which is fine and remove what broke.
@@stfudance5850 note, the dealer will not help you here, but it’s 100% doable all the same outside of a dealer. I have personally done that for a friend. Customers in general would usually buy a pack that has had that done (individual replacements of sticks or modules followed by reconditioning) and return their pack to then undergo the same process. This is relatively cheap, $350 for a Prius. It’s cheaper to DIY or find a shop that’ll do it. I did it for a friend for $100. Look up where to buy rebuilt packs, that’s what that means. In my area, it’s 1/10th the price of new, and works fine, again, DIY is still even cheaper, we got out for 1/40th the dealer bill and the car works fine months later.
My Honda Civic hybrid 2009 IMA light turn on only Letters IMA , when I switch off the car and turn back on it goes away, after few miles it turn on again . Battery charging / assist seems ok . Any suggestions ???
I have a question that i can't find the answer, how much does a 2023 honda accord hybrid battery pack cost? And how much if i have to replace the electric motor as well? Thank you.
Anywhere between $900 for a used low mileage battery up to $4000 for a brand new one . That’s just for the battery . I have a 2017 accord hybrid and due for a battery soon. You can install it yourself . It’s an easy process
The explanations are wrong... A series hybrid is one where the engine and the electric motor both run the car and the electric motor is an assist. That’s exactly what the Honda Civic hybrid is and that’s why it is called IMA which is integrated motor assist. A parallel system is like the Toyota Prius where the car can either run on battery only or on engine power only. In the Prius the engine does not only charge the battery but can also run the car which means it is physically connected to the wheels through a transmission. The third system is an extended range electric vehicle which is when the engine doesn’t run the wheels at all but only charges the battery like the Chevy volt used to be.
Exactly! The system in the left picture was never used in a Prius. It's like in a Chevy Volt, and the center picture is as in the Civic and the picture to the right is showing Prius' system.
lennin Ortiz you can buy one at greentec auto website for 1000 dollars with a core return of 500 meaning it will cost you less check them out. Not doing it yourself you would probably spend 3000
@@Floridascooterboys Well, I guess im never guying a hybrid with the batteries needing to be replaced like every 10 years and costing $3,000 to $5,000 to replace.
If it has a new style 3 digit battery, yes, IMA software has to be updated for optimal battery life. Everything except for 2006-2008 civic will set a P1569 software/battery mismatch code. Searching for the process currently and ran across this video.
If you dont have the big money for a new battery pack invest in a grid charger it will fully force charge the battery 🔋 to full and no more IMA light on the dash ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
@@raynoe1507 Yeah I was looking at those too(does it matter which one?) But I heard something about charging and discharging so I'm kind of confused there
After you install it to your battery let it charge overnight and a little extra time. Try that a few times and I will help your battery but if you want better results you can try discharging and recharge just make sure whatever you discharge it with isn't that strong, you wanna discharge it slowly and recharge slowly
