@@ChristelVinot I may not be religious and thus what I am about to say I don’t believe. But I believe the answer is something along the line of, it’s part of gods test and there situations is acctally form a certain point of view is enviable, since they get to prove their faith in god more often. I personally believe that if it is gods decision than it is one he make by chance, he rolls some dice factors in our side forces and provides us with a set of paths but that’s also a little to reliant on faith for my tast so...

Well, it's true.

The most heroic thing he might have done was to get there. The reason Clemente planned this in the first place is because the military junta (which was trying to overthrow the Government) kept stealing relief supplies. Clemente wanted to confront them, and personally supervise the distribution. However, if the plane had made it there, I have no doubt the Socialist junta would have kidnapped him, held him for ransom, and murdered him. One way or another, Clemente was doomed.

The national stadium was renamed Estadio Nacional Roberto Clemente, until the scumbags who rule the country now renamed it to some "revolutionary hero".

Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente. By a strange coincidence I was in San Juan when his plane went down shortly after takeoff. People were looking out to sea hoping that there would be survivors. But there were no survivors and no bodies were recovered. I was in a communications company tech room when one of the technicians came in and said "Clemente has been killed". It was a chilling experience.
