New Idea 5408 Disc Mower Repair, I bought it as a fixer upper. I online some of the materials and suppliers I used for this unique repair.

Holy crap?! I know you. Or rather I know of your wife, Michelle? I could really benefit from your experience with the 5408. Currently my dad's last 2 disc head gear boxes need replacement shaft bearings.

Friend just bought one of these. I’m researching them. There’s one selling at auction in far northwest Ohio tomorrow morning. I found it by googling 5408 mower so you could do the same if you want. Too far away for us you might be closer. Just subscribed!

Where did you get the replacement gear sets for new idea discbine? The ones that have hex all the way through.

Have you encountered plugging of hay on outer end of discbine?

I have not had it wrap the bar. I have had it build up on the crop divider. It was bent and needed some work to get it back in shape. Once that was done no more plugging.
