Love these rating climbs! As a Caro player I've been learning a lot from that series and I recently switched to the Jobava London too because it feels like a great companion opening. Solid like the Caro but with the extra spice from the early tactics and the queenside castling options. Would love to see you tackle something like the Scotch or the Scotch Gambit, I love those openings but have a hard time grasping the concepts and keeping track of all the tactics for each response. You do an awesome job covering the available options and explaining what the main plans are and I think it would be really fun to watch you absolutely crush people with it!

That mate blunder is what I do before I have any excuse that I am "winning". Really enjoying that you show several games a time. It allows me to see strategy and variation. Then I play a bit then watch more. Thanks for the content. It's exellent.

Great video. At 34:30 I like to allow my opponent the opportunity to blunder by delaying g4 and playing first e3 and Bd3. Many players then fall to g4 Bg6 Bxg6 fxg6 which is really fun to play with white

The chess gods love you more than they do me. I get punished for hanging mate in one constantly, conducting some tunnel-vision kingside attack. Hilarious. 😂😂 Can’t wait for the Jobava course

Holy cow!! That first game was so high and complicated, totally out of my range. I use your jobava London opening for white but that was on another level 👍

Hi alex, Do you have detailed analysis video of these jobava london variations. Like in your First match of this video. Opponent played 7. Ne8 While it was not the best move as per engine. There can be moves like Be7 or Qb6 Need your detailed analysis for these kind of variations

Why didn’t he play pawn f3 37:01? With the idea to fork the king and queen, with knight f3.

I have one question though: with black, you play defensive, strategical openings like the Caro and the Slav. With white, however, you play a highly tactical opening like the London. Why? Isn't easier if you also play strategic openings with white? Or for London players to play the Sicilian with black?
@AlexBanzea
@AlexBanzea 2 года назад
The openings are not really related to each other. In the future I will have a rating climb with all the major openings so everyone can watch something useful for their repertoire.
@Krilehor22
@Krilehor22 2 года назад
I see, thank you very much. However, could you please recommend a quiet, strategic opening for White similar to the Slav/Caro for Black? I'm almost having more trouble with the White pieces than i have with the Black... I play the Queen's gambit usually, but i can run into the King's indian, or 2.e5 and some super sharp lines, or other gambits which are hard to play.

Have you tried 4. e4 (instead of e3) as recommend by Niemann? Thank you for the very fun and good Speedrun 👍

That’s very interesting! Sadly not many people play with …c5 (everyone seems to play Slav in 2200-2300). If they go …c5 closer to 2500 I will definitely give it a go!

Very reassuring it happens sometimes to even pro players like yourself! That’s why whenever someone says something like “I never lose to players under ‘x’ rating you know they’re lying because these things can happen to anyone from time to time even Carlsen.

This is a great opening, if I can I always go for 4.Cb5. Otherwise, i long castle and go for kingside attack. Great games, a lot to learn👍
