@AlexBanzea & company of boys : you do know the audience is also comprised of women who love the chess content? I don't mind the cheeky asides about dating life from Alex, they are relatively amusing and wholesome, *but* I'd love some acknowledgement that it ain't just sausages watching your stuff and enjoying it! XD
By FAR the best chess teacher on RU-vid. Clear explanations, good analogies and always happy to review your choices and learn from them. The fact you repeat openings enough times for us all to see patterns and to help us remember moves is very much appreciated. Don't stop doing what you're doing - and please don't ever evolve into the clickbaiting type some other popular chess commentators have changed in to!
The added boards are a really good addition! Its crazy how much your videos helped me, I was stuck at 512 to 968 in just 1 month thanks to your caro-kan and jobova openings!
"defending the knight through the bishop.. the so called x-ray concept.... Uhh... That's pretty dope.." Lmao yea it's dope. Love you Alex jobava forever
15:08 wtf i have never ever felt so called out before. I use your videos to go to sleep so often. Its just that you have a clam voice. But the next day i often rewatcht he videos to actually learn! Thx for all of your vids btw :)
lol - totally - how did he figure it out? Super good voice. You may not realise but he calls us out AGAIN later (as I was literally falling asleep ahaha)

Another Jobava London video! This is SO great!!! Hopefully we can get three more of these just this week!!!!!!! LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I actually won a game at the 1990 world open under 1800 section with the Bg5 in the dutch and my opponent got mated after trapping and taking bishop. Watching your opponents get massacred plus learning how to pick up women makes this channel so much fun.
your sound quality is very good and I really appreciate it, I know it's not about chess, but im tired of chess masters having echo-y rooms that make my ears want to stop listening
if you processed audio after the recording with a vocal chain like an equalizer, compressor and de-esser then it would really be perfection (but that's far fetched)
With your first game, I have reached the same position as Nd5 in many games at the 900-1100 level. However, almost all my opponents castle rather than play Nxf4 or Na3 allowing for the checkmate.
So far, i love the jobava and I started it because of one of your videos. i like it because i don't have to memorize 30 different lines for each position placement. I'm great at thinking and analyzing. I am TERRIBLE at memorization. i even open with d6 as black when white opens with e4, then k-f6 and third bringing out the bishop. sort of an abbreviated-jobava for black with a less extended e-pawn, but i'm sure it has a different name. pretty cool that i have basically the same opening whether i am white or black and i can do basically the same playstyle with both. i feel like it's making me learn the game/system twice as fast as if i only played it as white.
Alex thanks a lot, following your principles, I got a 99% accuracy game (18 moves) even as a measly 600 blitz player. The strength of the pawn storm is underrated!
please continue playing this opening until the end of the day Alex! And when the day comes, ask if the sickle guy is willing to play "a game that he can't win" with you
Love your channel man Question: been playing Jobava against stockfish, what line or strategy would you recommend if black goes from nf6 to nh6 to take your bishop on bf4?
I got inspired by this video so when I got white I decided to play D4 for once, got the first game of this video move for move all the way until the checkmate on move 11. Jobava OP confirmed.
At 17:10 - why wouldn’t it be wise to take the knight? It’s true he can protect the queen by taking your rook.. but then you take the rook back with the Queen or King, he takes your pawn with his Queen, and aren’t you up +2 after the trade?
Two weeks without a movie is a bit too much. I know that the course is being worked on but monetization may have to wait a while. Don't forget about us
@IM Alex Banzea did you see where Alireza beat Nepo in I believe was the 12 round Tatasteel tournament after nepo laughed @ 1.Nc3 and then got beat by the Jabova!?!?
There’s an ebook at Foward Chess, the Jobava London that I use for training. It’s like watching intellectual boxing videos to condition memory in the ring.
I really like banzeas videos and learned so much. But somehow the games I loose are not these he’s showing. When I face the pawn storm situation, they already know these tricks I’m up to and prepare to castle queenside. Or whenever the Greek gift could be played they already moved the pawn there one ahead. So these main lines are rarely occurring and whenever they don’t occur in just worse. Kings Indian trap also rarely occurs. It’s as if they already seen all his videos
At 5:26 couldn't they just take bishop with knight? If yo do fork the king, you are doing it at the cost of a bishop and a knight for a rook. If you take knight back with knight, then it is an even trade allowing them to thrn play c6 blocking any further attempt to go for rook again. Edit: nevermind. Continue with exactly what you showed anyway. If the take bishop, you fork the rook and king forcing king to move f8, tgen follow with took to d8#.
