found this issue for me, its cam protection. I have Norton and if you open it and type in cam you will see cam protection on(to avoid unwanted use of cam) turn that setting off, reset discord and i finally got my cam to work

Any chance you can do an updated version of this? I've done all the tips you've suggested and for some reason it registers my camera in the web browser version of discord but not on the app. I checked my partner's settings on his discord and it works just fine. Skype, Zoom and other apps open the webcam just fine. I'm at such a loss at this point. I tried the SafeCam listed below and it didn't help either.

If another application is using your camera, it will cause the same problem. so make sure that another application is not running/using your camera - including your web browser. keep in mind that if you use BROWSER BASED discord, then your browser needs to be the only thing trying to use your webcam at that time.

@@dababy7946 This didnt work for me either. My solution was that there was a virus protection app on my computer that was blocking my camera access on Discord that I turned off. I am using BitDefender.
