Never stop with the Super Robot genre, I thank y’all so much for remastering that genre because it’s my favorite. I would LOVE if y’all did that for Panzer World Galient
It's my favorite genre as well. I was out of anime for a while, and it was old super robots and Discotek Media that brought me back. I always look forward to these Discotek announcements as there is almost always a good super robot, or even real robot, announcement in the bunch, with the occasional exception. Bismark got me excited from this reveal. I've been looking around in recent weeks to see if Galient was available subbed anywhere in good quality as it's one I've hoped to see get a release. I also missed the announcement that Sentai plans to release it, so that's exciting. Nothing against Sentai, but I don't keep up with them much since they don't do as much older stuff. Looks like it's set for October 15, which is closer than it sounds.
@@ravagingwolverine666 I’m right there with you, absolutely love the super robot genre, Galient was one of the first shows I watched in the genre and it still holds up for me, been waiting for years for someone to remaster it for us over here in the states so this is such joyous news for me. I love Discotek more simply because they do a lot of the older stuff as well
@@Potential94 Just a heads up for you as Galient is just 10 days away from release. I saw that Amazon's price for Galient is the lowest I have seen, which is unusual with anime stuff, at $38. Sentai's own site has it for $52. Crunchyroll has it listed for $60, which is a bit too high in my opinion. Crunchyroll(formerly Rightstuf) often has the best prices, but Amazon is the best in this case and is definitely where I'd consider it a no brainer to buy and in line with Discotek's pricing a lot of times.
I busted out laughing at the KissxSis trailer 😂 amazing panel guys! I am so looking forward to getting some of these. Also was surprised to hear my favorite Japanese band Art-School was featured in the robo geisha trailer
I have all 5 volumes of the D.V.D set but going to grab this definitely one of the most out of left field awesome announcements these guys have ever done
Giant Gorg, Space Musketeer Bismark, Kamen Rider V3, Android Kikaider, Space Sheriff Shaider, and Special Rescue Police Winspector. I’m Pre-Ordering all of these! Thank you Discotek! ❤🙏
sadly no at least 3 of those i would like to see as well hyper police, chibi vampire, and betterman the other 2 you mentioned i never heard of i would add another show id like them to license is getbackers
@@kaiju-dax6674 I have ADV's Get-Backers release -- it's pretty good. Since the show was produced in SD, I don't know what could realistically be done to improve it… Just put all 49 episodes on an SD-BD, I guess… But I will 100% support a rerelease of the Kikaider anime that aired on adult swim. It's good and deserves rescue
NXC has gotta be the most out of left field license. You guys have ever done?Thank you so much great to have the complete series or as complete as we're gonna get it due to the licensing in nightmare on 2SD blue rays. Thank you gentlemen
I'm excited for this lineup of releases. For sure I'll be getting Kamen Rider V3, Space Sheriff Shaider, Android Kikaider, Captain Harlock and Space Musketeer Bismark on Blu Ray. Thank you Discotek Media!
My personal hopes with the "more Lupin" tease… • Blu-ray release of Fuma Conspiracy • Blu-ray releases of the Dezaki specials since, aside from Liberty Crisis, they were DVD-only • ALL of Part II ("Red Jacket") on BD _with dubbed 2nd half_ (please TMS, cough up the ¥¥¥/$$$ to make it happen!)
Really holding out a hope for Part 2 on blu ray - considering TMS bankrolled the dub for Part 1 as a part of their Anniversary celebrations, maybe they'll at least dub some select episodes from the stuff that wasn't done before.
@@AssaulteedOne There are 74 episodes of Part II that have never been dubbed (except maybe into Italian), plus the two Miyazaki-directed episodes (145, 155) that were dubbed by Streamline in the 90's. 76 episodes is a lot, but if they'd be willing to dub "select" episodes, might as well do the entire thing. While the rumors of eps. 80+ being dubbed were debunked by Richard Epcar, there are still rumors of completed ADR scripts.
I've been doing my part with regards to the super robot discs. I have all of them shown in the slide at 27:28 or so, except for Gaiking(forgive me), but that's because I have and like the DVD and I'm not typically a double dipper. Bismark was the highlight announcement for me here and I'll definitely be getting that as soon as it's out. I was wondering if the licensing for the Japanese version would be possible without too much difficulty. Harlock, Dallos, Groizer, and BEM are also very interesting to me. I like the old stuff. The tokusatsu fans had a good stream I'd say. I'm not a tokusatsu guy, but some of the stuff here like Winspector did look pretty tempting.
I'm not surprised that StrikerS is coming stateside. With how popular the movies and the English dub of the main series are, it would make sense that StrikerS would be coming. And it won't surprise me if Vivid would be after that.
I am sincierely hoping that the Digimon movies make it across the shore to the UK. I can accept the remastered Seasons not being over here (since the market for those might be smaller and the DVD re-releases from a few years back are still circulating) but the Movie itself has not been re-released in any form since the original DVD in the 2000s.
Since you're re-releasing Space Pirate Captain Harlock in BluRay and have already released BR's of Galaxy Express 999, is there any chance we can get issues/reissues of the rest of the Leijiverse? Queen Millennia, Queen Emeraldas, Maetel Legend, Space Symphony Maetel, Galaxy Railways, DNA Sights, etc. all could use releases. Some of those titles have never even seen official Western releases, ever. And if you do release those titles... keep with the similar spines!
I like them but that’s a HUGE exaggeration. They get lots of series. But lots of licensors as sad as it is to say are not immune to personal bias’s. Like Justin sevakis refusing to license MD Geist because well he worked at Central Park media and didn’t like it. lol
Hoping for more magical girl anime shows along with some titles I’ve been wanting from my wishlist that haven’t gotten Blu-Rays yet. That being Neo Tokyo Cat Soup Area 88 Requiem from the Darkness Rave Master Blue Gender Getter Robo the original 70’s anime show Zatch Bell! the entire anime series Monster Some obscure Osamu Tezuka anime shows that haven’t gotten Blu-Rays yet like Blue Blink Samurai Giants Ashita no Joe the 70s anime series Box of Goblins Aoi Bungaku Series
• Zatch Bell will never happen because the creator has REFUSED to license out either the manga or anime since he got full control over it -- they can't even republish it in Japan! • Netflix currently has Monster and they're never inclined to put ANY of their stuff on physical media
Discotek Media, any chance you please can do a HD Remastered of Mad Bull 34 OVA, I know you released a DVD of this, would be awesome if you did a completely new HD Remastered of this OVA like you did Project A-ko.
When they decide not to include the corny Jeff Nimoy Fox Kids dub in it. It requires so many approvals just for that that it could be delayed to next year again. So not worth it when they already redubbed and fixed everything to how it these movies should have been released in the first place.
That OG dub is so nostalgic for anyone that saw it alongside the dubbed release - it's really the big surprise of the original announcement... dropping it would be a travesty
@@AssaulteedOne Yep. New dub is cool, but wouldn't sell to the majority of people who want this. Original dub/music makes it what it is to majority of American fans.
You'd have to ask them -- they said 4 episodes including the one shot in the US had to be left off due to music rights, and for all we know Ultraman may have been on the chopping block as well due to rights issues…
Nope. Three other episodes aren't included as well. Those are the Almost Live episode that took place at Universal for Set 1, and the two-part "Best of" episode for Set 2.
I'm not sure if he's worked on all of them but 12:33 is a lie. The Hemingway Papers DVD doesn't have the special/year on the spine (and it drives me mad).
hope to God we get space battleship Yamato at some point. Though it’s unlikely. I just want HD rips of the films. Space symphony maetel and queen emereldas. Area 88 and MD geist are on my list though I know there are reasons MD geist won’t happen (petty reasons) but I will buy Dallos, giant gorg, Kite, and electric dragon, and that’s about it.
I'm 99% sure Crunchyroll has the rights since Sony merged Funimation into them (a dumb long-term move IMHO) Discotek has a good working relationship with Toei with all the toku series but DB/Z is a monster all its own
I hope that you guys will finally license the English dub versions of the anime series “Swiss Family Robinson” and the anime series “Tales of Little Women.” I really want to see those two released in English. I also hope that you guys will license “Wild West C.O.W.boys of Moo Mesa” just as you guys have licensed and released the anthromorphic animal shows “Street Sharks” and “Extreme Dinosaurs.”
Any chance you guys could get Toku frrom other companies than just Toei. Yes they had the most bit they were not the only ones. Yeah Millcreek has Ultraman tied up but they didn't get Jumborg Ace or Fireman or Triple Figher which is the odd one because not a giant hero. Then there was Roho's Rainbowman and Diamond Eye which like Tori's Kikaida, Kamen Rider V3, Inazuman and Goranger did air in Hawaii in the 1970s as did P Productions Denjin Zaboga. I am afraid thigh you really ca not get those three because Genetstin Kikaid once told me Toho wouldn't negotiate for them and P Production no longer exists. But prove me strong if you can and get all three.
@@iconiclit8945 That's right. I forgot about that, but surely a deal could be made. Aniplex, for whatever reason, does not want to put out the show on Blu-Ray, maybe they can license it out to Discotek?
Unfortunately that's not happening. Aniplex and Sony own the rights to that series and don't seem inclined to license it to anyone even though (or because) creator Nobuhiro Watsuki was cancelled. Pretty sure they even pulled it from Netflix after Watsuki's arrest… Still, I'd LOVE to have the series and especially the OVA's on bluray
@@Soufriere84 Yeah, that's terrible. I'm still hopeful though, there are a few popular anime that I never expected to get again like BERSERK, so I'm still hopeful that one of these days someone will convince Aniplex to rerelease the series.
Can't wait for Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas with English Sub and Netflix/VSI Dub on Blu-ray or Lupin III: Mystery of Mamo with 1 Sub and 4 dubs on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray!
@@brandonclemson3301 Unfortunately Crunchyroll has license to Konosuba now. Still waiting on them to release the Crimson movie. They may rerelease the first two seasons but it probably won't be a steel book though.
Disappointed GTO won't be HD, but I totally understand why not. Why is it always my favorite shows that are problematic? Lol Fist of the North Star, Dragon Ball..
@@iconiclit8945 Remember they said GTO *_can't_* be remastered. It has the same problem the Bloodlust film does (that one is even more infuriating since it's a friggin' movie animated by Madhouse!) -- being edited on video yet combining traditional cel animation with SD digital/CG effects. You'd literally have to track down the original uncomposited film, assuming it exists, and redo all the shots from scratch. No one can afford that.
Agreed. But he's even worse when Jeff Nimoy is writing him that way. I always thought the English VA sounds like he trying not to breathe while doing a Ninja Turtle impression.
@@Soufriere84 Jeff Nimoy wrote the "ugh! Such a man!" line for Angewomon directed at Angemon in Revenge of Diaboromon and he wrote that by himself. Angemon is not an actual or human man, nor is Patamon. Angewomon is not sexist either. His jokes make no sense and are cringy. He also wrote the line for Matt, "I always hated that stupid whistle," when Tai has never used that whistle in front of him except in a lost memory from before they met during the battle with Parrotmon. In which he took it from Kari for a moment and gave it back. So why does Matt randomly hate Kari and her whistle in Kizuna? That line has nothing to do with his original attitude or line, but now Matt always being annoyed by Kari and her whistle is permanently a thing. He directed, casted, and wrote the English dub alone for that movie as well. His writing doesn't make sense in a lot of spots and makes a lot of errors. Aside from that, the chopped up compilation movie being included in this redub has caused a year long delay. I'd rather just have the real individual movies with the real soundtrack, without Smash Mouth and other corny 90s hits, if it means getting the movie last year and not next year. Jeff Nimoy also sexually harassed young women in their 20s at conventions and made a movie about trying to sleep with young fans that he even states could be his daughter. He's a creep in general.
Even then Harlock was disappointing. I would’ve preferred Yamato or space symphony maetel. Then a simple rerelease. DALLOS is also a plus I belive it was out of print. I’m also fine with giant gorg, and electric dragon. But yeah there’s stuff I wanted and the only thing on the wishlist I got was dallos.
@@ericmasson3101 Yep. Was definitely hoping for some reprints like Beautiful Dreamer. It seemed like they went full on mecha and rider this time. Hopefully they'll get some better series next year.
i really should stop watching these streams. these are so depressing from a european standpoint sure, kiss x sis currently gets a dubbed release in germany but the rest... nothing, ever 🥲
