For everyone complaining about price. Rumple introduces new colors every fall and puts the last years on sale. Cost at REI this last fall for last year’s Rumple, $80 US.

$150 bucks.......right. Outragious price for recycled plastics. Goose down or better yet, wool for the same price.

I was liking it until I heard $140. Half that, maybe. I always think of what else I could get instead for the price, like a pretty good pair of boots, etc. Like you, I'd rather hunt for a suitable treasure in a thrift store for $10.

I bought my nanoloft on sale but I love it so much I would absolutely pay full price for it if I had to. I do quite a bit of car camping and it can get stuffy in the car but the cooling quality of the rip stop make for an amazingly warm and cozy yet cool to the touch sleeping experience.

Hi Mark! For once I won’t be adding a piece of kit to my collection because of your review. We already have Rumple blankets! Yes they are awesome! I do like your modification as well. Wish we had REI in Canada. We have MEC which is similar and they carry Rumple but I have not seen the prices go that low. Thanks for commenting

G'day Steve, thanks for your endorsement and the info on sale prices mate, not too worried about a coupla bucks, but that is a very significant difference. No REI outlets here in oz to my knowledge, but we do get many of their products through other suppliers, and often times a sale item, (after currency conversion and shipping), is still worth an international purchase. Cheers Duke.

Greetings Mark. Hope you are well. I have a confession. In winter I sleep on a crappy, polyester doona . It's machine-washable, dries quickly, has a cotton exterior and it's as warm as toast. Not quite as expensive, but just as effective. Cheers mate !

G'day Mark, as someone that loathes sleeping bags, very good, though in fairness many bags do of course have full length zips. Yeah, still wanna keep it away from a fire and sharp objects though. Personally I'd take it car camping and use wool outside around the fire and save this one for sleeping, or lounging without a fire. Also, the two could be used together as a sleep system if it's really chilly. With the buckle; whether it be as is, or as you suggested a two part job, I reckon it needs to be adjustable in length and/or set back from the edge, so you can pull it tight enough to overlap. Anyway, interesting stuff mate, thanks for the vid once again, and as you rightly said, it's always good to have options. Cheers Duke.

Thank you for the suggestion of the paradors loops to keep it from sliding off if you use it as a top quilt. Or just as a way to cinch around your feet at night. In the summer I use my dads old flannel Coleman sleeping bag. Sometimes at night it can get extra cold so I do bring an extra blanket to put over me. Tho I usually bring my wool or fleece throws I’ve picked up at thrift stores over the years. Light weight and doesn’t slide off. I have a blanket like you are demonstrating but not rumpl brand, and I like how light weight it is and that I can snap it on to wear on a quick trip to the restroom in the middle of the night or to put over me while I’m sitting around the fire. It was probably $20 on Amazon so it if gets a hole I won’t cry too badly. It’s nice to have even inside the house as a throw. Though I generally prefer my wool or fleece cuz they don’t slide off.
@MarkYoungBushcraft
@MarkYoungBushcraft Год назад
Getting a hole in this would be my concern as well. Wool is better for campfires for sure. Thanks for commenting
