Great video. A couple of things that I would say are somewhat major that go along with some of the things you pointed out are 1. Below the battery is your computer and the typical lead acid batteries will leak over time because as you mentioned the heat or typical lead battery boil over and will leak down and ruin your computer. The best battery to get for these Corvettes because of the electrical draw and the heat is an AGM battery. Like you mentioned the Optima, but stay away from Optima. They suck now! Odyssey Extreme is in my opinion the best battery. Very pricey, but will last years and will not leak. 2. Your cowl where the air flows into the cabin below the windshield, below it on each side of the car is what they call bladders where the water drains out from rain or if you’re washing it, those bladders are known to get clogged with leafs 🍁 and debris and if they get clogged it will cause water to leak down inside your car into the carpet and give you that Smell you were talking about and could potentially make you think it’s been flooded when it was just water leaking in because the bladders being full. Glad you mentioned the “Harmonic Balancer”!! FYI- these will fail not only because of what you mentioned, but more so due to the poor quality of manufacturing from GM or whoever they actually have make them. These balancer’s are a two piece, which means you have the outside part and then the inside part, and they are held together by a rubber substance that deteriorates and falls apart causing it to wobble and even could cause it to hit your engine or the steering rack. If you replace it, do not go back with a GM brand. Go with either a Summit Racing, Trick Flow, or one of the most popular is the ATI Super Damper, but is the most expensive one. The Summit brand is the best overall for budget and quality.

Clean C5. I don't see many this color in my area often. I always liked the spoke design of those z06 style wheel 👍

Something you should have mentioned is that a six speed manual C5 raises the price over one with an automatic transmission.

A low mile/late model Corvette is NOT a bad thing, if they are driven a thousand miles per year or so will keep the mechanicals in working order. Long gone are the days when engines/transmissions would leak fluids from cork gaskets because of no use. As far as batteries go, keep the car on a battery maintainer when not in use & these cars will not "eat" a battery any faster than other cars of that era

I understand the ecbm goes bad on these and they are epoxy potted. They cant be repaired. Also, nobody makes them anymore. Big problem.

Also watch out for sticking clutch pedals and oil pressure regulator besides that I think this is a great car I have a 2002 I bought in 2012 it now has 93,000 miles on it I bought it with 73,000 miles on it I am the 5th owner and loving it

Where did you get those bladder covers?

In your opinion how many miles a year should a corvette be driven?? I get lots of people keep them as garage queens but like you said not driving them is also bad so what’s a happy in between?

At 9:40 you mention bladder covers? Or did I not hear you right? What are they called and where can I get some. Bought a 2000 c5 just a few months ago and the driver seat had a little rip in the side with some tape on it. I was thinking of getting seat covers or whole new seats but saw this in your video. What would you recommend? The car is torch red with black interior. Thanks!

Mods do matter on a car in my opinion my c5 I wouldn’t take any less then 24k & it’s a 2001 which is a great year color corrected & ceramic coated I’m the 2nd owner & well taken care of 💯
