You need more of this man, he may not know the most. But his calm and concise explanation of things makes it so much easier to understand what's being said and why. Give this man a subject and you'll see your RU-vid viewership triple. The two of you together are great!!!!
Randy, a lifetime ago in 1965/66 I saw my first Discus. They were wild caught discus, a wondrous creature that sat in a tank of shadows. It was the first time a fish had and has, ever made me catch my breath!
Very well done video. Perfect balance of semi-directed questions, free-flow interview, and b-roll. This, along with the new "The Truth About..." Series, really seems like you all are hitting your stride where everyone's talents - both on and off camera - are maximized.
My first thought at the beginning of this video was that it reminded me of @deansfishroom . It’s really cool to see some “behind the scenes” type stuff as far as what goes into testing and is giving me ideas on how to plan my fishroom. I’m in college, so I have years before I’m building it so it’s good to see what other people are doing and how it works out for them, as well as the dedication behind the coop team
Really interesting!! It’s probably the 1st time I’ve ever considered doing my own brine shrimp!! I’m excited to learn more about it & dig up old Dean’s vids!
Wow! Loving Randy's fishroom! I didn't know you were a discus and angelfish guy. Cool! Jimmy is charming as usual. I suggest you breed back your Paraiba angels with a wild type like Sta. Isabel, Manacupuru, or any wild Scalare to improve genetics. Shape and health.
I'm running 11 tanks all different sizes. my son's tank is a 40 gallon breeder and I have one of those trickle down filters above the tank it is by far my favorite filter and easiest to maintain all the hardware that came with mine I had good luck with But if I ever have any trouble that looks like a good alternative for troubleshooting parts
Question... there’s a stainless steel corkscrew veggie feeder (22m26s), in the pleco tank.... looks like it would work better than the plastic clips they sell for feeding fresh veggies...... what is it called & where did you get it? I didn’t see on coop site. Thanks! Susan
Hi, for the brine shrimp hatchery instead of it being two different color couldn't it be a printed tight fitting sleeve label, like on a two liter bottle. You get to have it branded and have the clear window to see thru.
A great video. Have had many African Malawi and Victorian cichlids in the past but have no tanks right now. Watching and trying to learn how to care for Discus and Angelfish and plan on getting another aquarium soon. In the Phoenix area looking for a club to be a part of. In the video the info on how to follow Tandy flashed too quickly for me to catch. Could you please repost the info here? Thanks, Glenn.
do the stripes on your wilds come from stress or are they just striped? sorry if this is an obvious question, i truly don't know much about discuss but i plan on getting some eventually so trying to learn all i can
What kind of racks do you have your tanks set up on? I'm looking to set up my fish room and am trying to get some ideas for what racks might work best.
They look similar to my Gladiator rack. I have the Gladiator EZ Rack or something like that. I have a 29 and a 5 gallon on one shelf and two 5 gallons below it and tons of supplies on all levels.
Cory, Culd you get the sponge made in white? The reason is easier to see the need to clean. Greg Sage mentions one of his reasons for box over sponge filters is seeing the need to be changed.
@Aquarium Co-Op, he hasn't considered using Excel or similar to set-up a better documentation for his breeding along with identifying parents and genetic tree? Edit; 12:58 - You probably want to make a french cleat mounting mechanism. So it gets closer to the wall compared to his set-up. It would probably be the most ideal solution. With a french cleat, you only need a 45 degree angle cut on a piece of wood. And you can hang it up there, next to each other. And regarding the water rotation for the eggs. I dunno, but I think a slope down to one side, where it bubbles. Might be more ideal than a centre bubble? Then again, I don't breed a lot of brine shrimp.
Hey I was wondering when doing the Cycle with plants that you explained where u add plants into the tank and new growth of them or algae means its cycled do you have fish in the tank to supply that ammonia at this time or what? Also should I add beneficial bacteria starters to grow in the tank too? I know this was completely off topic to this video but I'm just not trying to mess up.
Curious to see if either of you have used the ziss breeder boxes? I know they are expensive but the cost of time to DIY Them like randy and dean I don't have I could work 2hrs of over time to pay for one. Love the video keep up the great work!
@@jimmygimbal thank you for making sure the subtitles worked. For live streams I'm reading lips until the closed captions are enabled on the live stream. It's doable.... Couldn't read anyone's lips on this video, lol
Can someone please tell me what kind of rainbow fish that is. It looks half black and half dark orange or red. I would love to know where to get some. Thank you for answering my question.
