I saw the Discus in India, they were starving, always searching the bottom, not only one of them but all. Bone thin, I was so angry. The fish on this video are gorgeous, I couldn't see any bone protuberances and they are swimming about nicely, without dragging their abdomen fins on the bottom continually trying to find a tid-bit of something. The colours are vibrant from what I saw, my grandkids....Blessings to all.

Wow I realy miss my discus when I look on this, this fish is so fantastic, when they have children, children eat a secret from the mothers skind for 3 years I was having one that was biten from a piranha, it was a wild fish very special to me because it was my little child and some how I think the fish knew that I save it because if it was staying in the shop then they though it out, because nobody want to be a fish with mistake, only me, the discus is a very interesting fish to have and sometimes difficult, on my time they was only going in soft water, if I put a fish in hard water it was quickli dieing, but very nice they are like Thailand if you first get them under your skind then you love them forever

G'Day Use the BTS and get off at Mo Chit station. Stay on the outside of the market and walk keeping the park on your right hand side. You'll come to a street on your left that leads to both the Children's Discovery Museum on the right hand side (www.bangkok.com/attraction-museum/children-s-discovery-museum.htm) and the aquarium section of the market on your left. Don't know why you didn't mention the name of the market, Chatuchak. Unlike the big Chatuchak market for clothes and other goods, the fishmarket is open every day. Our guy from the aquarium shop in Pranburi goes there every second wednesday shopping for his business. I was there a few days ago and saw the beautiful Discusfish with my own eyes... what a elegant fish!

Hey Steve I actually support the policy of not allowing foreign ownership of land and I'll give you the main reason why. Thai farmers are some of the financially poorest and least educated of the Thai population. If they were to be allowed to sell their land to a foreign entity, do you think that many of them would take up the opportunity to sell their farm if they were offered an "above the odds" price? Perhaps half of Thailand's farming land would be owned by foreigners, foreign companies or foreign governments!!! The housing market is just a small section of what could be a huge issue for the Thai people. Always good to hear from you. Thanks for your comments.

Just bought 6 juvenile discus from my local fish store about a month ago. They are eating vigorousley and are looking and growing fabulous. I was too scared to buy them as well, but I went for it, bought 2 of them first and plopped them into my angelfish tank. They did great and bought the rest. I have everything they tell you not to have.. A substrate, pH of 7.8, hard water, very high alkinlinity. So far, they look good. I also just added some plants so things are not 100 stable as it was before. They seem to be just as hardy as any other fish in my experience.

Fearbleeds saammmeee man. They're so pretty and i rlly think the most important subject when talkin about keeping discus is proper tankmates and filtration. As long as you don't do anything weird. Do you still have your discus?
