I love Ricky Gervais, and even trying to be the most objective person I can be on the topic, Seona Dancing was really fucking good. And I'm very particular about 80s synthpop.
More To Lose is an enduring anthem in the still thriving New Wave circuit here in the Philippines! Thank you, Ricky Gervais for such a masterpiece. Hope you can reprise this powerful song one day💖😎
@@josephdy9930 yes youre right...its actually not a hit in the phils financial wise...only 2 FM stations play that song regularly during its release...wxb 102 and 99.5 RT...sometimes WLS 97.1 during weekends and thats it...only the 7" version is released locally and only a handful has that 12" vinyl..im not sure but i might be correct that you cant find not more than 100 copies of that 12" vinyl in the phils during that time
Daming Pinoy dito ah hehehe... Yup, Sir Ricky Gervais, Filipinos here in the comment were all right about More To Lose being one of the new wave anthem in the 80's here in the Philippines 🇵🇭. It was a biggie! Maraming salamat po sa napakagandang kanta.
It was called a Monster hit back in Manila. Yes, I grew up listening to this in Manila and this song is ETCHED in every Filipino 80's kid's play list of British New wave and pop songs.
I have the 3 versions of More to Lose in my playlist, the original, a 7 1/2 minute extended and a 10 minute extended version. Great song Mr Gervais, one of my favorites
Poor Ricky, he's ashamed of this band of his, he's lost, he should be proud of it cause he made fantastic music, he should get his confused head straight.
Failed miserably? Noh!!! If you only knew... More to lose was SOOO popular in the philippines back then. I think it is still today though!! When the DJ played this song, people went nuts!!
Jane Fallon, Ricky's gf, is such a loyal person. She's been there with him since he was young & sleek like David Bowie until now when he's old & chubby. I salute her loyalty.
I don't think seona dancing was all a failure in the philippines. More to loose is a pop culture music for new wavers. It made a generation feel good , to hope and more.
Fuck me!!!! Who'd have thought Ricky Gervais was an 80s popstar when he was in a band (well a duo) called Seona Dancing? People to this day still don't believe me when I tell them that Ricky was a popstar back in the 80s. Ahh well fuck 'em. If they don't believe me , they don't believe me. It's not my problem at the end of the day.
@Landofconfusion2008 What do you mean most of it? You could say all of it's shit a lot of the artists can't even sing and their vocals have been auto tuned. They didn't have that sort of technology back in the 80s. Well I don' think so anyway.
