I think the Tifa bit is at Cosmo Canyon when Bugenhagen is showing off the story, its more of a VR situation like the one in shinra museum. He's explaining the weapons probably
Yeah i think so too And maybe its showing us the creation of the weapons being that this one looks 'young' or something. It's smart to set them up earlier. my guess is this set up serves to show them awaken at the end of the game as a big payoff.
4:33 I actually think this Cloud ends up becoming one of the Jenova/Sephiroth clones that travels to Northern Crater, while the Remake Cloud is the one traveling with the party. Remember, the last trailer one of the clones muttering “Reunion” sounded like Cloud’s VA.
Hate to be that guy, but that doctor isn't the doctor from Mideel. There is a version of the trailer with speaker names in the subtitles and that is revealed to be Doctor Sheiran who is a character from the novel Traces of Two Pasts. Doctor Sheiran is responsible for Tifa's recovery after Sephiroth cut her. His office is located in Corel. And since they're digging deep into the lore I think that the hooded man in Junon may actually be Verdot.
Nanaki should rightfully have that knowledge. He should be parroting what he's learned from his grandfather. Also, him acting wise and smart is a part of his arc. He even gets called out on it by his grandpa within Cosmo Canyon proper. The reason why you don't remember him acting wise is because, like with all the swappable party members, there is a lot of dialogue you don't get or was omitted due to the devs not knowing who will be in your party when. It's a functional version of Cloud's cool guy facade, so in Rebirth it will double as a point of commonality between the two, except Nanaki's goal is to sound older, more independent, than he is. Cloud... just wishes he were that cool. Plus, Cloud gets called out on it all the time by everyone. Nanaki you wouldn't know about if grandpa didn't rat him out haha But yea Skyhoppers has an excellent, massive video essay on the OG that includes details like that documented within the video. FF7 Rebirth, and Remake to a large extent, is incredibly faithful to the base characters and extrapolates what they would say to each other if given more agency over their roles.
I get what you're saying, and I'm glad you can read it that way but I just can't. It would work if Red constantly spouted false information that you discover to be false later. But he's continuously very correct about the whispers and fate and does nothing but drop exposition, that's his entire character in Remake, and it's a shame. I think it just lacks charm and soul, it's just inferior to the og. Maybe Rebirth will change that, but so far it just feels conflicted, stuck between being a remake and being a sequel without being able to fully commit to either.
@@ItsLazBoi Oh I'm with you on waiting for Rebirth. Unreliable narration can't be confirmed until Cosmo Canyon. The whole arbiters of fate and its execution will always be the weakest point of Remake. If fans are correct, most of these characters have interpreted that whole part of the negative lifestream incorrectly, and it will be our good old expert in Cosmo Canyon who will shed light on the truth. Regarding the cosmology of FF7, there are only ever 3 characters that are always correct but they have caveats: Bugenhagen, Ghast, and Hojo. Bugenhagen knows his limits, Ghast is gone, and Hojo is right when he believes he's wrong. EDIT: I guess I should clarify why I have faith here that Nanaki is wrong and why I think the core characters will remain faithful. It has to do with a dev/promotional comment: "Lies and deception." The promise is being made that in Remake and Rebirth, we are being fed lies. I'm holding them to that. Nanaki parroting stuff from grandpa or interpreting visions of future past from Aerithsth should be played with. Remake ending was just a train wreck lol
Lol, the red xiii description is an obvious troll by the devs. Those who know his story know he’s an adolescent, and those who don’t will find out when they get to cosmo canyon. I read that as Tongue-In-Cheek 😂
Don't you go to Medeel before the Temple of the Ancients? Also, to be fair, Red XIII did come off as wise and seasoned, because he felt he had to be, he's the last member of his race and has to step up for his "coward" father... until Bugenhagen embarrassed him in front of the crew and then he had his character arc, so I'm sure he'll start out that way here, too, and transition into learning to accept himself, his fate, and that he has room to grow and learn.
Mideel is way after Temple of the Ancients. That's where catatonic Cloud washes up after his mental breakdown at the Northern Crater. I don't even think the place is accessible without an airship.
aint nothing to shit on about these games. the remake has already shown us how incredible this team is. pretty much the best story ever told. so to see it play out 30 years later is literally our treat. we dont deserve this shit is the truth. lol
Found you while I was replaying ACII and found out that you had a lot of VII content. Fell in the AC and VII rabbit hole and ended up watching a lot of your stuff. While my opinion doesn't match yours, I enjoy your analysis on the games. That's it, I just followed you on Twitch, keep it going !
Sure, it might be Matt Mercer! I hope it is… But people were also swearing up and down that don corneo was voiced by mark hamill after his trailer reveal, soz… 😂
I wouldn't totally say "dislike" but I do feel Remake follows way more the direction of the compilation than it does the original FF7, which leaves it with diluted themes as a misplaced direction, at least for what I personally value in FF7. Still on board though for what's to come regardless, I'll see it through to the end!
@@ItsLazBoi Ah, I played the OG game when it came out but never played any of the compilation games. While I wasn't expecting remake to be a sequel, I am excited about it. I greatly enjoyed your reaction to the two main story beats of the OG though. It's a special game.
To me this way better becuase If 1:1 remake then it bad People will say "remake 1:1 bad then maybe FF 7 OG not that great" But If it not 1:1 remake then it bad people will say "remake bad but it not 1:1 FF7 OG really good" FF7 OG only win with this way My prosonal take ONLY
@@zueszues9715 I think from a business strategy perspective that's quite valid. I never played the compilation games because I heard they were subpar. I thing, so far, this approach is a great way to retell everything in a new, cohesive way without retconning all the original content.
Outside of Crisis Core on PSP, I didn’t play any of the compilation or watch the movie either. However, I do remember an interview back when Remake was released that Nomura and/or Kitase did where they basically said, “yeah, we’re trying to make it all one cohesive story.” Now in that same interview they also said they weren’t planning to re-release CC, but hey, gotta make some $ too while you work on the 2nd installment. I understand your concerns with the compilation leaking in, but to me (and again, never played the full compilation. CC made sure I wouldn’t want to 😂) I think it can all work out. Won’t know until we reach the final product, and even then, it’s telling their own version of FFVII. They’re kind of playing it on the fly, which could be disastrous of course but I’ll still choose to reserve judgement until the trilogy (and story) is complete. Edit: that being said, I do believe SE should also give the OG a proper update and re-release like they did to the first six entries of Final Fantasy. They’re a portion of the way there with Ever Crisis, imo. I would use those graphics to properly recreate OG7 from start to finish in the old turn-based style many still love and enjoy.
is it like two dimensions one in which cloud is the hero and one in which zack is the hero and sephiroth needs them to merge or something? like voldemort going after harry over neville lmaooo genisis can stay on the zack route
Red has always tried to convey himself wiser than his age. His arc will still be the same I bet once we reach Cosmo Canyon. He's supposed to know a bunch of this stuff considering who raised him.
