Finally the fourth one!
As mentioned earlier, clearing this seemed all-but-impossible with merely 14 common evility slots (and no unique evilities on unique units), so after stealing a Neo Baal Sword from the Item God 2 of the Baal Sword (reward from Carnage Baal 1) and getting it to kill bonus 400 I compounded ATK as a Lucifer Dyne and then managed to reincarnate into, then dupe, a Barefoot X, so my stat woes are effectively done. Really, this video isn't much of an achievement when I put it off until I had levelled equipment...
(Still, their item properties aren't perfect. No Swing About, I'd probably want Attacker/Sturdy and Fire Power and All-Out Hit...)
Of course, with higher stats also come new strategies!
Dealing with all three Baal means that Baal 1 blasts everyone out of the base panel three times (for around 1bil each hit), Baal 2 reflects 50% of damage taken (and all of them have over 11bil HP, so it'll oneshot), and Baal 3 has a revive and blasts the map for 11bil damage upon revive. As such, if you just straightforwardly take out three attackers and set up to attack all three Baal one after another, all of them will end up taking four fatal hits (and the Baal 2 attacker takes five)! Kinda hard to go deathless like this... especially when you can't run Corpse on your unique units.
In my first run I dealt with this by putting Sword Catch on Ao, but this time I instead had someone protect people as they came out of the base panel, and then had those people take out Baal 1. Higan (with her halved damage taken from monsters... assuming it even applies here, I did find that monster weapon res didn't reduce it) or Pirilika (+130% HP with enough HL) would probably be the best options, but when you can't get subclass mastery and unique evilities on unique units, the tank position falls to a generic unit... and so I arbitrarily used a Male Armor Knight.
Despite that, near-maxed level-up HP plus full HP extracts plus three HP Up armor still only allows you to protect three units before you'd die protecting a fourth, which is why the unit I had take out Baal 1 was my strongest generic: my Item World clearing Mecha Lady, who could get +200% damage from Assault Attack, and when Jumbified could two-shot anything with regular (fire-elemental from Ablaze!) attacks.
After that, without the three base-panel blasts threat, I could return the tank to the base panel and take out my other two attackers, buff them (and return one to the base panel!), and then set up the usual 'carry around a backpack of support units' strat, except that since supports don't need EM Shield for survival anymore they can run Kill With Fire instead (to boost all attackers' damage).
First I have a Maiko make PRX2741 act again and defeat the three bottom-left regular enemies (who can revive once), then I move the support stack to another edge and have Ao Jumbify then punch the opposite side's Baal 3 (whose revive blast sets everyone on the map to 1 HP, thanks to the 'survive fatal hits' Wickedhancement), and then finally take out my other attacker (Fuji) and back-attack the final Baal 2 for the victory. This way, I unlock S.O. Seal on three different units!
Gotta say, it's very funny to open the Sightseeing reward chest only to get back the item I had maxed out in order to win the fight! The true reward, of course, is unlocking evility S.O. Seal on my notable attackers, which (once maxed out) should reduce stat boost requirements for stuff.
Some improvements:
- lol just get subclass mastery
- Ao could just put on Long Range (3 slots, +100% damage if target is 10+ panels away) instead of To the Death (3 slots, +50% damage);
- Ao could Jumbify before PRX2741 attacks the three regular enemies in order to apply the +100% damage taken Jumbility (not that it was necessary to oneshot... and it wouldn't be an option if I wanted S.O. Seal on other people anyways);
- focus on increasing equipment's INT as well instead of just ATK in order to not need a Magic Boost buff for maximal Mana Blade attack power boost (not that it would even save a turn... really, I could also sneak in a Braveheart from other tower units if I had lower stats).
This strat's pretty straightforward so you could probably just replicate it with any three random units as long as they had the (equipment) stats... but you'd need to make sure you had at least one Swing About on equipment to replicate the Mecha Lady's Jumbility, and probably stack more attack power and damage to make up for losing Ao's +100% damage taken (since you'd merely have up to +35% from seven supports' Cursed Dance... though in my case with Yeyasu/Suisen I only had five).
Well, that's something for me to think about later. Right now I need to farm up 301 3-star-difficulty Item God kills in a rank 40 item with PRX2741 to max out Seal of Power stats, to really make Item World and Carnage 15 clearing easier...
