In Portugal the Christmas dinner may be .Cod with cabbage, carrots and potatoes, boiled, hard boiled eggs optional. .Octopus and potatoes, boiled and oven baked for crispy flavour, veggies on the side. .Shellfish with garlic butter toast, and fish soup. Lots of sugary things for desert. All with good wine. Of course there are other menus, but these are the most popular.

Turkey thighs are the tops. tender, succulent with a lot more flavour.

grahvis I can accept that, have a mess with an air fryer, get a totally see thru one, marinade chicken or turkey thighs or drumsticks, I love to watch them slowly air fry, air fryers are excellent for meats

@@Dennistube001 . Thanks, I was looking at air fryers before Christmas, will give one serious consideration, hadn't thought about one being see through.

grahvis I had a big all glass one but the bulb went so I threw it, I then bought a smaller one with a see thru lid, very nice but once again the bulb eventually went, so I decided to get the big all glass cheap one again at £30/ £40 but when the bulb goes there cheap to replace with loads of utube vids showing how to change them, as a description of it, it's large with a very large glass bowl with various racks in it, it also has an extender ring to increase height by about 4 inches then the bulb/timer/heat controls are on the lid, it also has an auto clean just but the racks in upside down with a bit of soapy water and set it to wash (a very low heat setting but the fan spins the water slightly agitating it), you still have to wash the racks as normal but it will now just quickly wipe off instead of constantly scrubbing, these fryers are cheap and cheerful, they may even be the cheapest, as I say there brilliant for meats, you can also wrap meats in foil but I love to watch chicken drumsticks cook while boozing, you can put about 11 large on the lower rack and same again on the top rack all with bones facing the center, it also comes with a rack remover for lifting the racks out. It's a fun learning curve to experiment with it, getting it so you don't even notice the skin, but on thighs i just remove the skin when cooked. I might try putting roast taties under the chicken and let the juices fall onto the taties basting them as they cook,
