All good comedy has some basis in truth and this sketch is no exception. Hilarious and brilliantly played, but also tragically accurate and true to real life. We've all know a woman like Elaine, though hopefully not quite this extreme! Catherine toes that line between serious and satire brilliantly! :-D

I am from Texas, and while this skit serves comedic purposes in most parts of the world, nothing she said surprised me or made me even laugh lol. I have seen women like this on TV all my life, and they say exactly these absurd things about the most repulsive of men. They act like their stupid choice of a mate should be accepted as “normal” by society, as if it were a question of whether they prefer ketchup on their fries or not. “Well, you can’t help who you love!” is another common statement of theirs. Btw, the snow globe did make me laugh. 😂

Catherine Tate is a multi-talented comic and dramatic actress. She is not Donna, except when she was, she is not a side-kick to Dr Who, except when she was, this is a new character in her wide repertoire, very true to life, but I hope, fictional! Much as I hoped her horrible schoolgirl character was, but...that one I seemed to meet every day!
