@@imprettierthanyou928 She's a young kid who just met a talking dog, the explanation Dug gave was obviously to cleverly explained so it activated the girls "Nope" mechanism. Lol, put it this way, if you were that age and you saw a talking dog your initial reaction would be pretty similar at first. Then you'd be awwing at the cute doggo.

It's a myth that dogs see everything as gray. They actually can distinguish colors. The deal is that they have dichromatic vision unlike our trichormatic vision. They can distinguish blue, and not blue. Red, orange, yellow and green all look yellow to a dog. Or, at least we represent it as looking yellow to a dog. Agility courses are often blue and yellow so that dogs see the greatest contrast.

For anyone wondering how they did this, despite being clearly VERY well trained, the dog would have an ‘owner’ or ‘handler’ nearby, (likely the voice actor for Dug) who would listen to what the people were saying to Dug and discreetly speak into a recorder which would transmit through the collar.

Dogs are colorblind, they see things in a black and white perspective. Like watching the first part of the Wizard of Oz.

A dog's vision isn't monochromatic, it just uses a narrower spectrum than a human's. A cat's is different yet, and some animals are even able to see infrared and ultraviolet to some degree.

Based on how they knew what he was nearby there was probably a mic and something that allowed the person to hear what others were saying on the collar and a voice actor or recording of some sorts playing in response through the collar from afar.

It's probably similar to the trick that was played on Goober in an episode of The Andy Griffith Show. The boys attached a walkie talkie to the dog's collar and there was a microphone where one of them talked into it. This technology is even better then in the 1960s.
